cc65 will work but you'd have to do a ton of legwork just to get your program to start up, let alone do anything useful.

CC65 would be fine if you want to adapt all of the libraries HuC uses.


Good luck.   It's not fun.   It's been used for NES projects before, but NES development has considerably more effort going into it.  PCE land has hardly any programmers doing anything.

I got the Ultima ][ title screen up with errors in it. :P

Not to hijack this thread even further, I'll post something once there is something worth posting. :) Though I do agree that HUC definitely needs a facelift or at the very least more documentation.
