I did not have any contact with firebomber7, but seeing the picture of him and his daughter breaks my heart.  I did remember reading his posts and seeing that he was passionate about this community.  My prayers are with his family, I know from experience how this type of loss affects those left behind.  The upcoming days will be incredibly hard, but as they say, with time things will get better.  As I said, i didn't know firebomber7 personally, but it sounds like he left a legacy of love for those he did know.

This is very unfortunate. I just got here. I never really even knew Breetai, but he seemed to be a great forum member, and that picture of him and his daughter makes the whole situation worse.

RIP Breetai, I hope you enjoy your afterlife in heaven. :)

I don't know about y'all.  I mentioned this in chat last night as well.  I can't even f*cking look at my Turbo stuff without seeing that pic of him and his baby girl.  I know it will pass, but it just goes to show how you can make good friends that you may never actually meet offline...

absolutely, it can be easy to forget that there's a person behind each of these posts.
my heart goes out to Blake's family, may the Lord watch over them.

Saw news on this on FB. What little interaction I had with FB was always pleasant and chatting with him was super fun. R.I.P!

I didn't know him well, but I'm still a little heartbroken.  R.I.P.

What??? This has heartbroken me. I just put two and two together after reading other posts in other threads. I then went looking for this info I hoped I wouldn't find. I knew Breetai back before he became a regular on here. I loved talking Macross with him (though I wish we got to talk about it more). I love and miss you, FB.

Man, I need a group hug. I would hate to lose any of yuz guyz.

I'm in.

It's just hard to put a face behind a name online but after seeing that picture I will never forget that face and the name. Like I mentioned previously I sold Blake one of my IFU cd-pce setup back in April or May and he also wanted me to mod a TE or GT eventually for him down the road.... RIP brother.

This is such sad news. I didn't know the guy well but he did win my raffle for Keith courage and sent this back

"Yay, awesome! Except when I posted in that thread, I just said "!!!" in response to SamuraiGhost not having a copy. I didn't actually intend to enter.  Whistle

Maybe a redraw would be fair, without my name in it?"

He really didn't have to do that. A truly upstanding guy. He will be missed.

I got my mystery game in the mail from Firebomber the other day. It was so weird pulling out the package, knowing he had shipped it out just days before dying.

It ended up being Crossed Sword 2 for the Neo CD. I've never played 2, but it looks awesome, and is one of the few Neo games that is not hindered by the CD format. Excellent choice, my friend, I will always cherish it.

I used to chat with him a little in pm's here on the forum. Sad to hear about his passing, he was a nice guy, we used to talk about my cat when he was ill recently.. My condolences to his friends and family.

It's a mystery how Blake came across a stack of those CARE4DATA Sapphire bootleg games, but this is how I came to know him. I met him on the Racketboy forum in 2011. He sent me several of those Sapphire boots, and I distributed them to my friends local to the Phoenix, AZ area. We got to know each other through PM. Aside from our obvious shared interest in retro Japanese video games, he and I had very much in common. We were both Christian, in our 30's, had lived in Japan, both married to Japanese girls, and both of us had very young and adorable daughters (his is 2 and mine is 4).

Blake and I were once talking about earthquakes in Japan via e-mail, and he said, "If the worst happens and I die, well... I believe in Jesus. I'm not worried about dying at all." So, I don't grieve for Blake. I feel badly for his daughter. I hope that as his daughter grows older, she will not forget her father, nor how much he loved her. I will miss him.
