I'd be interested in TurboForce Vol. 1 as I have never gotten to read it.  Truth be told I'd read through it and then put it into a shadow box frame for display purposes.  Got any pics of it?  Mainly the cover.

For a magazine it's easy.  You just put it in an envelope and put the appropriate stamps on it.  No forms.  What do you say now?  Oh, and put a "Please don't bend" label on it.

As long as the weight is 13oz or lower you should be able to send it via first class international to him cheapish. Unfortunately writing "please do not bend" on it wont matter, because its going to be sorted on conveyers, etc, with tons of other small mail and parcels. They are not required to do special handling on first class mail that cant be insured. You can try and add a thin cardboard front and back to the item, but that is about it. As long as FiftyQuid is aware of that and fine with the fact you cant get him tracking for first class mail, you should be good to go and should be able to send it to him for around $5 after packing and shipping cost.

They may have you fill out a small customs form at the post office. I have a game here that Sparky won from a raffle. When I went to see about paying for shipping online for FC International, it was requiring me to print off and attach a customs form to attach to the package. Since I don't have the clear attachment envelope things on hand that they usually use for customs forms, I'm just going to have to go down to USPS in person for this one.

Hi Professor.  It may be different for the USA to Canada, but based on my experience when shipping items to the USA the rule of thumb is anything paper can be sent as plain old letter mail.  A magazine would fall into this classification.  I get magazine's from the USA all the time and they do not have Customs forms on them.  They are mailed directly from the printer/publisher so perhaps there is a separate rule for those guys.

I guess the best thing to do would be to ask USPS.  I agree with the Prof about adding cardboard front and maybe even a back to help it stay flat and protected.

Thats what letter mail is here, First Class, and First Class International for shipping out of the US. But they are strict on weight, and only allow up to 13oz for it. 8oz or so to Sparky was going to run a tad over $4 bucks for me. I imagine the mag will make it under the 13oz, but he will have to check to be sure. I'm not sure what to say on the customs form thing. Thats why I am going to have to take Sparkys item in personally.

If they really do require it, then its best to do so then risk not and just dropping it in a slot and hoping for the best, because the package could end up in customs hell otherwise. It would seem odd to not when they tell you to include it with the package, and prompt you to print it off on their website when you go to purchase shipping. I don't normally ship out of the US anymore, and definitely not without tracking, but Sparky was cool with snail mail since its a raffle item, and if hes good for it, I'm good for it.

That probably is why, from when I entered in the size info and all. I wonder if they allow magazines to fit the classification of documents? On something like Media Mail they wont allow magazines, so it makes me wonder if they have any restrictions regarding that. Would seem pretty silly, but since its USPS were talking about here and all...
