VolfieV vs VolfieD
« on: January 19, 2013, 01:17:37 AM »
Pcedai says Volfied. Both spellings have about the same amount of hits on the forum.
I personally wish there was a Gals Panic instead.

Pcedai says Volfied.

PCEDAI says Volfied because of the Japanese calling it Volfied (or ヴォルフィード). So since this is a Japanese game, I guess it's obvious what the right answer is :)

I think the game was really ment to be called WallFeed. That's what you could take out of its japanese spelling.

And it would also make some good sense, since you do feed walls in that game. like a an old printer feeds the paper.

I chose VolfieV (even though I know it is actually VolfieD) since I'm a big fan of Malaprop humor.

Funnily enough, it's actually pronounced BAKUSHŌ YOSHIMOTO NO SHINKIGEKI .

ONLY ACCEPTABLE ANSWER: VolfieV. (The alternative, of course, is DolfiedD, which clearly, is LAME).

The gaming store that I had used to work at back in the 90s sold it as Volfied.

This does not mean much though as we had some horrible translation ;-) LOL

I always pronounce it "Vol-fié"  as it ends the same as pied in French.    :P

I don't actually.

Anyway, Qix is the 1981 arcade game; the poll should read "Ultimate Qix", the sequel (Volfeet in Japan).

(Ramble continues:) My dumb brother always pronounced the musician Jean-Michel Jarre's name as "Jarré" which I always told him was 1) stupid because there's no acute accent on his e, and 2) pretentious.  I actually did show him a Japanese spelling of his name to prove its pronunciation.  So now we've come full circle.
