Very cool, I'm looking forward to seeing more of the reviews. :)

I should try to come up with more ways to connect with my fiance with games. We're both gamers, but it's kind of easy to fall into a rut of just playing single-player games on our own separately given our tastes (most platformers, RPGs, and other stuff that is pretty solitary). And when we do play the same game at the same time, it can backfire, like if it's a story-heavy RPG, we have to find a way for whoever is behind (which is always me, haha, because I like to take my time) to not see any spoilers. Or sometimes I'll get so sick of a game from seeing it on constantly, between me playing and then my fiance having a crack at it when I'm not playing. So believe it or not, guys, there can be downsides to having a lady who is into games as much as you. :P

And they are in the first topic.  We only have numbers right now, but I will add some text a little later.

Cadash is awesome!  Did you guys play it together?  I suggest maybe giving it another go.  I have friends who don't really like retro games and that is one of the few I can get them to play.  Moto Roader and Bomberman are the only other two TG16 games that go over well in my group.

Boxy Boy isn't that good IMO.  I got Boxxle for GB when I was a kid, remember being really disappointed with that too.

Legendary Axe II also seems to be more popular in your household than it should be...  lol.

Excited to see some comments.

I did some research on it, and apparently I didn't level up enough early.  I do plan on giving it another go soon.  :)

I freakin' love Boxy Boy.  Some really nice touches for an early game.  As for LAII, how could you not love it?  :D  Of all the games to question (Yo'Bro!, TaleSpin) you choose Legendary Axe II?  ;)  It's a fun platformer!

Yes, give Cadash another chance.  You do need to 'grind' a couple of levels at the beginning, but after that, it's pretty smooth.

We tried Cadash again, but yikes.  She's not as good, and it became tedious.  Maybe with another gamer it'd be awesome.

Keith Courage got a 3 out of me, and she gave it a 2.  We gave the same ratings to King of Casino (2.5), Bravoman (1.5), Air Zonk (3.5) and Legendary Axe (3).  However, I've been playing Legendary Axe on the console, and I'm probably bumping it to 3.5 at least, if not a 4.  More fun on original console for sure.

HA! She's right about Sinistron, but since you aren't the biggest shoot-em-up fan, the difference in score is no biggie

I tried this with my girlfriend once, and it went something like this:

1.)  Felix the Cat - NES
Her:  4.0
Me: 3.0

Her favorite game of all time and the only thing she wants to play that doesn't end with the word "Dash."  I think it is an above average game from the period and still fun to play.

2.)  Every other game:
Her:  Doesn't give a shit.
Me:  Gets shit for playing.

SAME HERE! if you swap out any classic 80's arcade game for Felix the Cat...

Bumping this because it is my topic and I think we may bring this back/start it over. We have starting streaming on Twitch, and I thought this might be a fun project to look at again. At the very least, find those games that we absolutely adore.

Would anyone be interested in this?

Very cool, my girl does play video games but they require one of the following: a maze, fitting pieces together..did i mention a maze already? Oh and fitting pieces together. This limits my game pool but on a good note i just got cratermaze recently and she likes that one.

I think this thread represents a great project.

It's fun because my wife would not be interested in anything outside of classic 80's arcade games and puzzle games.

Anyway, I think you two should both give PARASOL STARS another chance because it scored too low (from both of you! For shame!).

I really think it has a chance to be more appreciated and loved.
