Yeah, actually you did. You signed up with a community with the soul reasoning behind it to gauge the value of something you plan to sell,
Yes, you are 100% correct - I joined this forum because I am looking to sell my system. I made no attempt to hide that or to claim otherwise.
This site has a forum for sales. I've read through the rules, and there's nothing about new members being prohibited from posting sale items or asking about the value of said items.
which is not really appreciated in and of it self around here.
I can't comment on what you do or don't appreciate. That's your issue to get over.
You totally ignore this said quoted value, that you yourself asked for mind you, opting to go for the supposed $800 for two games you thought you were going to get.
I did? At what point did I "ignore" the original quote? When did I solicit an inflated price for anything? The PMs sent to tg16maniac wasn't a demand that he pay $800 for those two games.
Look, I asked for people in good faith to give me an assessment of value which they did, and which I appreciated. I then posted that I want to sell it, preferably as a set. I then get a flurry of PMs asking me to sell bits and pieces, all at varying prices.
So if we are the f*cking experts, why would you honestly think someone is going to pay you $800 bucks for two common games?
Because he offered it, and he made no attempt to correct it until yesterday. Maybe he knows something you don't. Maybe he made a mistake.
Instead, this gets aired publicly and everyone automatically passes judgement.
It's kind of an impossibility to do this when you basically start the ebay chant right out the gate before listing it on CL, other forums, etc. What typical noob ebay chant am I referring to you might ask yourself?
/\That one./\ And make no mistake, I'm not a anti ebay person. I'm a long time seller on there. Regardless, I am totally against that kind of seller mentality, because it leads to constant shill bidding, sellers who wont honor honest won low bid sales, and jacked up BIN's in relation to things like video and pc games and other collectables.
I've never sold a thing on eBay. If you participate in shill bidding, that's your business.
I joined this forum because I'm looking to sell my system, and no I wasn't trying to jack up prices or play any type of games. You just assume that's what I'm doing because of an outlandish offer I got for two games, an because maybe some people in the past have tried to do it, or it runs rampant on eBay. But don't automatically assume I'm trying to rip people off because you're jaded due to negative experiences with someone else in the past.
And yet you are on a forum where you are finding that most people actually DO care. Why? Well for one we have a emotional attachment to this systems legacy.
Yeah... I can tell that you're emotionally attached to your Turbo Grafx. No doubt there.
Two, because this is not just a marketplace. This is a forum, a community as it were.
I can appreciate that.
When shenanigans take place concerning our forum, we want to know. After all, by your own words, we are the experts. What kind of experts would we be if we allowed market idiots and gougers to fill our ranks?
Well, I can't speak for the majority of your community, but every community has a bully/village idiot.
And obviously you're the kind of "expert" that blames an uninformed seller when someone makes an outlandish offer.
You joined up to waste peoples time here.
No, I joined to assess the value of and sell my system and games. But go ahead and assume the worst about people if that makes you feel superior.
Lets make no mistake about it, you ARE NOT a member here. You're basically that a$$hole drunk truck driver that drives into some new close knit town and starts shit at the local diner for whatever reason before being tossed in jail for the weekend and sent on his way afterwords to never return.
Wow - elitist much?
Dinner parties at your place must be agony; I feel sorry for your guests.
You analogy is laughable, but really paints a great picture about your attitude of ignorant intolerance to new people. To be clear, I'm a passer by who is now facing a lynch mob because people assume the worst when a stranger rolls into town who is unaware of local custom.
You don't care about the Turbografx, nor its games.
This system was a big deal to me 15 years ago. I would think that's clear from my first two posts.
I care enough to see it off to a good home... but no, obviously I do not care nearly as much as you do.
We don't have to welcome you here at all, and the lack of the red carpet welcome you seem to have expected is due to your own actions, not ours. We don't need you, and I could care less if your last post was in all actuality your very last before my own, because you have added nothing here to this community by joining up and wasting peoples time. You are not the first person to do this, nor will you be the last.
Spare me the elitist paranoid drama queen righteous indignancy.
You need to get over what other people have done in the past; not everyone who is new here is trying to screw you.
We already told you what it was worth, so piss off.
Yeah, likewise buddy.
