Soo...my MH friend got both the Wii U version and the 3DS version, thus I've been playing around a little bit with it on 3DS. While not having access to that 2nd thumbstick addon, the touch-d-pad "works". At least better than I imagined it would. Still feels weird that I cannot do the PSP "claw grip", finding my fingers trying to execute it all the time.
Since I have no prior experience with Tri before, it sure feels different than the PSP games. And really bewildering, especially the menus, they're really different. Not sure about you guys but I found text on the 3DS screen hard to read, partially because it upon closer inspection looked interlaced. The screens ability to do 3D is probably to blame for that, anyway.
Still quite fun, we tried out the Wii U/3DS local multiplayer a bit as well. That dang songbird called in a Rathian
- less than good times were had since we still were using the starter equipment. Still beat it tho'
Despite some oddities, it feels pretty promising
Too bad I don't have a 3DS/Wii U of my own yet. Must say that the 3DS's speakers are surprisingly good for being jammed into such a cramped space.
