I'm going to start Wind Waker
« on: March 20, 2013, 09:17:36 AM »
So the wifey is out of town for three days.  After the twins go down (18 month olds) around 8:30, I am going to play Wind Waker Thurs night, Fri night, Sat night.  I said I wanted to finish one game while she's gone that I have never played.  So before I dive in, any advice?  Is three nights enough time to get through it?  I am a bit of a below average player when it comes to Zelda games, but generally because after Legend and Link, I never gave them much time.  I want to avoid GameFAQs as much as I can, but I can't promise.   ](*,)

I doubt you finish it in 3 days.  It is a fantastic game, with plenty do find and do.  You should be able to get through it without any kind of walk-thru, so dont sell yourself short.  Take your time, and enjoy the game.  It really is one of the best, IMO.

Not sure if you can bust through it in three days, but good luck! I love this game. Can't wait 'til the WiiU version comes out.
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

Got one to sell? PM me!

One of my favorite Zelda games. Three days is tough; I'm sure someone who's ripped through it a few times could do it, but you should relax and enjoy it. It's a fun trip.

I'm a huge Zelda fan, and like Wind Waker, but I have to say it's not the best Zelda.  Nor will you finish it in 3 days, though of course it all depends on how much exploring you want to do.
My complaint about the game is that your map is all ocean, divided into a grid.  Each grid square has one island to explore which is imo a huge copout, as was N's decision to make the game cel-shaded rather than the polygons we were expecting.  It's fun and playable, but somehow without the vast plains and other (land) areas of previous Zelda games, it missed the mark for me.
And yes, my dumb ass will be buying the Wii U version too.

Not to strike up this old debate, but: horseshit. This game looks fantastic. Far better than Twilight Princess's ugly brown bullshit.

I played and beat it recently for the first time. Had it for some time but never got to play, which now I regret. The game is amazing, it's just not my favorite in the series because LTTP is still the perfect one and WW has some little fails here and there, like the lack of difficult (I managed to beat it without dying even once) and a couple of boring parts. But overall it's very funny, has LOTS of things to do and it's one of the most beautiful games ever.

Just started this game as well. I'm getting ready to board the boat.

I was debating on whether or not to play the GC verzion, or wait to get the HD version for the Wii U when it comes out. Figured playing it now would give me a good comparison for the HD game... that and I've been on a GC kick recently.

How is your marathon coming? Just one day left...

Well, my brain started to melt about 3 hours in yesterday. Tonight I said "f*ck it, I'm playing Insanity".

Once you make it past the stealth castle bullshit this game all falls into place. I had zero trouble staying interested. This one and Link's Awakening are my favorites.
