Hello
« on: March 30, 2013, 10:32:50 AM »
I wasn't sure where to post this so I decided in the PC-Engine discussion would be fine.

Hi I am Lambadelta I am 19 and Live in the UK and I love collecting old games/consoles that I can enjoy playing (so none of that collecting for the sake of collecting)

I recently set my sights onto a PC-Engine Duo and hopefully will own one in the next month or so

I recently picked up a PAL turbografx and loved how the games played and sound and looked into more details on the game library and noticed like always Japan has the best.

So until I can get myself one I decided to join this lovely community and hopefully discuss and buy loads of games of a community that doesn't try to scam people.

I hope to see you all again and I will love to post pictures of my PC-Engine when I find one at a reasonable price (stupid ebay)

I was wondering if someone could tell me the price of a Pc Engine Duo R since I would love to own that specific version. Or would it be cheaper to buy a PCE and a CD accessory separately?

The initial system is expensive but worth it. Best bet is to splurge for a nice duo-r. Piecing together a system is fun but might end up costing you more in the long run. Expect to pay a little over $200 for a nice system.

Paying the money for a working Duo-R would probably be a better route to go.  Less issues than what a regular pc-engine Duo has.  You could also go for a Duo-RX.   BTW welcome to the site.  It's nice to see some younger people enjoying this great system.

Welcome around.
If you want to know more about the PC Engine game catalogue i think you should check The PC Engine Software Bible or PCE Daisakusen.
Enjoy

Welcome to the funny farm!

A recapped PCE Duo or a Duo-R/RX is what you want.

I'd go the Duo-R route, its easier to find and cheaper than an RX, and won't need a recapping like a Duo.

Also, you're only a year younger than me! Its good to see more young blood collecting old school games.

Hey, I'm in England too.  There's quite a few of us on here now.  Which is quite good, as US shipping (and if you're unlucky, customs charges) are quite expensive.  I got stung with customs charges a couple of years back on a Super CD Rom and Core Grafx which tacked on about £80 iirc.  Be aware!
