Microsoft has made it clear that they consider you a drone and intend to control how you enjoy video games.

If Microsoft does a 180 and decides this isn't such a good idea then fine. But, if they do not listen and continue their arrogance vote with your wallets and pocketbooks.

I'll give Sony credit for changing their minds and doing the sensible thing by reversing their decision to disallow used games.

I have never purchased a Microsoft console or a Sony console, and I doubt that I will anytime soon.

the games are far too expensive and lacking in the fun department
further i wont be getting a win7/win8 phone unless it gets cracked wide open like the win mobile6 series

I didn't watch any of these videos.

I sure as f*ck didn't watch this one:

But regarding the issue at hand, here's the deal. These new consoles are bullshit. They offer nothing substantially new from the current gen. Honestly, games in general have changed very little since the Dreamcast, well over a decade ago, except in the departments of sound and graphics. Game design annoys the shit out of my now. The scene is dominated by me-too fps crap and brown-ass time vampire western RPGs and everything has a f*cking BOOK WORTH of boring frustrating long-winded tutorial. If I actually had an Xbox 720 or a PS4 you couldn't PAY ME to play the f*cker and this is the truth. I barely touch my PS3 and as it is, and that thing is powerful enough to give me every gameplay experience I'd ever want (most recent purchase: league bowling, a game I already own on MVS).

If you are going to boycott these idiot boxes, do it for reasons like mine, or just cave now and preorder the thing. The whole "blocking used games" thing, guess what, they aren't going to do it. Sony didn't "reverse their decision" they never made that decision. As long as you think you win you'll buy the dumb thing. Its the same reason why the federal government lets rednecks keep their guns; as long as they have them they are pacified and will exercise their FREEDOM...to go to work, pay their taxes, sit on their asses and not do anything to change the status quo.

"You are free...to do as we tell you." - Bill Hicks.

By "making demands" like this you are effectively promising to buy the thing because your demands have already been met. They are laughing their ass off at your activism. You are being played.

Sorry to break the news, but its the truth.

For modern stuff I only game on pc. I have a lot more control that way along with a wider selection of games, and the hardware is far far better.

Quality stuff, Zeta!

I like Francis Rages, but I can't watch anything that guy in the bottom link does for more than 0.02 of a second. And I can't understand why anyone cares about anything modern consoles do.

Yeah, I love that guy. Nobody rants better than he does. The only reason I have a 360 is because a friend of mine gave me his old one that wasn't working and said I could keep it if I could fix it, which I did after lots of youtube and google searches to figure out what was wrong with it. I never would have bought one, but I wasn't gonna turn down a free one. I haven't taken it online once since I got it and aside from downloading games from XBLA, I have no intention of taking it online. I never liked MS as a gaming company because when the original Xbox came out, they all acted like arrogant pricks and talked as if they knew the business better than the companies who'd been in it for years. Not the best way to make a good first impression. I hope the new system fails so hard that "Xbox" becomes a synonym for epic failure (as in "North Korea tried to bomb the US and got their ass kicked? That's some Xbox level shit there, man.").
I am bad and that's good. I will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.

I'll take a look at the PS4 when it comes out.  I'm a Sony fanboy so I can't help it.  I own two PS3's, and a 3rd broken one.  All of them are the fat design.  I dislike the Slim and Super Slim.  Actually bought a Slim and returned it the next day for reasons I won't go into here.

Microsoft can bite my ass though.
I'm busy playing pinball, but I still drop by to visit.

I love my Xbox 360, but if this shit takes place. I wont buy it.  I do have to say this though, Zeta makes sense.  It most likely IS some freaking marketing scheme.

I agree with what Zeta says myself. If there is something larger going on here it wouldn't surprise me. In the meantime, my wallet will be happy. :)

If this is just a marketing scheme, I would like to think that it would backfire and people still wouldn't buy the thing, but I suppose that would be too much to hope for.
