I got my first TurboGrafx 16 the same year Neutopia came out; 1989 iirc.
I think that was also the same year that the TG16 was released in the USA.I was about 13, and had to mow an insane # of lawns to earn the moneys.
I got the CD Add-on a year or so later, for Ys Book I & II.
Once again, more lawn mowing ensued, but this time my siblings helped; we pooled our moneys.
We've been sharing games and systems ever since.
Edited to add:That reminds me!
My little sister beat Neutopia II while I watched, because it came out shortly after I sprained my wrist.
I had fallen out of a tree in someone's yard, that wanted their tree trimmed.
But still, it was a cool experience.
My sis had lots of Zelda experience, and had already beaten Neutopia I, using my maps of the overworld and dungeons.
Neutopia II was a great treat for us both; the world was so massive, compared to N1, and she also got the opportunity to map it by hand.
Good times, good times...
