making stuff
« on: April 18, 2013, 11:16:42 PM »
It's weird, but being in IT for most of my career, I'm generally fixing stuff pretty much all the time.  It's weird how little credit (and money) you get for making sure shit doesn't break (and fixing it quickly if it does).

I guess it's harder to quantify than some numbskull who rakes in a load of sales and gets a proportional cut.

Anyway, I've been coding some tools recently, and I really love coding.  It's like problem solving, but more to the point, at the end of the day you end up with something you can ... not touch, but y'know.  It's there.  It's a thing.

I could get used to that feeling.

Shouldn't you have put this thread in the Turbo game development board?   You know, since your next post is going to be your announcement that you're going to code and release both Bonk RPG and Neutopia 3.  Right?

I was planning to make some bullshit games, but the stuff I've been doing is work related.  I just built a bunch of tools in my spare time that make everyone's lives hella easier.
