You know what, I wonder if anyone here has Cosmic Fantasy Stories for Mega CD, I'd be intersted to know what the cinema is like in that one.  Maybe that uncensored is from that??  But that'd still be wierd, since the visual collection was on the Turbo, not the Mega CD.  As for the colors, is it maybe possible that Nod just had the settings differently in the brightness, it also seems wierd if they recolored it, but I guess stranger things have happened.

Um, I guess the Visual Collection is different then.  I'm about to bust your myth bust :D
Great find PD (I didn't even know there was a CF Visual Collection)!

But your new revelation doesn't bust nod's mythbust. A visual collection is an entirely different beast than the games themselves -- and thus, WD did not censor CF2's shower scene when it was localized.

As for the difference in the quality of the images: there are many different factors that could account for why your pics are different than nod's (from the method used to capture the image, to the method for compressing the image, etc.).

Personally, I think it would have been best if the PCE game had the nudity, but with a tranparent / translucent layer of steam and water obscuring it. This provides the best of both worlds, IMO.

That looks extremely poor. Are your Cosmic Fantasy Visual Collection legit? Or did you get it through mystical means? Maybe it's hacked? Sure looks unprofessional at least.

It's a burn from a friend, whom I'm going to be buying the original off of anyways, but he lives in Idaho, so, I can't just walk down the street & get it from him.  I'm also getting the Valis Visual Collection, & a Neo Geo CD player with a crap load of games, & more, but, it's the real deal, & he has no clue how to even use an emulator, or pretty much any computer program, aside from the basics, so, it couldn't have been hacked.  He would've had to rip it onto his computer, which he doesn't know how to do, & then hack it somehow, so, uh yeah.  I know it doesn't totally bust Nod's proof, I said that just to make a wierd statement(bust your myth bust), because I'm a nutbar!

I hadn't altered the colours or anything, that's exactly how ME displayed the images, and how I remember them from playing on actual hardware anyways, so they're fine. The Visual Collection version is clearly coloured differently.

I think the method PD used to capture and save his images accounts for the different aesthetics. PD's images look like overexposed versions of the images you posted.

All I did was take a picture with backspace. :?   Maybe I have my gamma higher, or whatever, it's not the kind of stuff I know too much about.  But, maybe when I have time, I'll take a picture of the US version, & see if colorwise, it looks the same.

Well the later cosmic fantasy games like part 4 had nipples in them, so maybe when they released the visual collection they decided to grow some balls and redo the old scenes like they originally wanted to or something.  Didn't the visual collection come out right before or after part 4?

This sounds reasonable -- according to PCECP, the Visual Collection came out a few months after CF3.... which was a LONG time before CF4 part 1 came out. So, I think the Visual Collection was realeased to take advantage of the success of the first three games. Maybe Telenet realized that they could really improve their sales by offering an EXCLUSIVE uncensored nudie scene in the Visual Collection. Otherwise, why would folks who already owned the CF games buy the visual collection?

Companies do this sort of thing all the time. How many of you have re-purchased a movie on DVD when the letterbox version comes out? Or purchased the re-pressing of an album because they added some b-sides to the track list as a bonus? Companies love to double-dip like this, since they know that the more ardent fanbase will want the extra-goodies.

Whether or not Telenet did this is utter speculation, of course :), but it seems reasonable as far as I am concerned.

The CF visual collection, actually only has CF 1 & 2 on it.  I'd think they would've added 3 as well, since it came out after.  Intersting thing though, I never noticed that the booklet on it, actually says Vol. 1!  So, I guess there was going to be atleast a 2nd, but I wonder how much of it ever came to fruition, if anything.

I know that the Valis Visual Collection, which I also have a burn of, & am going to buy off my friend, has 2-4 on it.  And from what I can tell, it doesn't have anything changed in it, but, I'd have to take a really indepth look thru it when I get a chance.

I'm still hoping someone will see this thread, that has CF Stories, & can maybe shed some light, as to what that particular cinema looks like in there.  It might be, that they had the pepperoni's in that version.  Maybe I should pick that game up.  I think I have a burn somewhere, but, it'd be nice to have the real thing.

I own CF Stories actually. If anyone knows of a debug code in this game like in CF2, I could check it out.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

CF Stories? What's that?

I only have CF 2 and 3. Wish I could play 3, but maybe I will now that there's an FAQ up.

Cosmic Fantasy Stories is CF1 and 2 combined in one big game for Mega CD. I was kind of hoping that it would let you choose between CF1 and CF2 in the game, but it doesn't seem to let you.

That's kind of cool, though it's strange they wouldn't let you choose. I didn't think CF1 was even set on the same planet.

Come to think of it, the Sega/Mega CD has a lot of Turbo games. Dungeon Explorer, CF 1/2, Sherlock Holmes, Lords of Thunder. I need to pick up one of those Feka CD systems.

Dude, you realize that you'll need to purchase a Genesis console *in addition* to a SegaCD, right?

I'm just looking out for you. Feka has been known to mislead trusting folks like yourself ;)
