WTB PC Engine to Turbografx game converter
« on: May 08, 2013, 01:50:38 PM »
Hey guys I am looking for one of those region converters so I can play PCE games on my Turbo.  Recently I got a CD set up so I wanted to skip the U.S 3.0 card and use the PCE 3.0 card due to cost (if somebody has a PCE 3.0 card I am looking for that too)

I have paypal and I live in Canada.

If somebody could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks so much!

Converters are rather over priced and quite finicky to use, so they're really not worth it.  Unless someone here can hook you up with a deal, I suggest going with a switched region mod (best option) or a chopsado for the syscard and a flashcart for games (good option if you have multiple systems or don't want permanent mods).

Shoot chop5 a PM and see if he has any of his chopsados available.  It should be really cheap and you can use that until you come to your senses and get your console region modified.

EDIT: Er, what Necro said...

I would love to region mod my system but I live in Canada.  Shipping is really expensive to send and to receive.  I would be also nervous about shipping my console because of damage or loss.  My console has already been modded to S-Video so I can't easily replace that.

Converters are the way to go. If you ever decide to get a flash card it plays hell with region modded consoles.

Telegames still has new ones listed for sale for 50 pounds plus shipping.  That's probably your best bet unless someone here comes through.

Some systems and flashcarts won't have any problems, but even those that do are easily fixed (it's related to inadequate power at the huey slot).

It would be cool to have one, but $92 is a bit rich for me...

Even with paying for shipping back and forth having someone region mod your system will cost less then a region converter. I actively do those mods if you change your mind.

I have no trouble with using a flash card on my modded Duo R.

Converters are janky overpriced garbage. Region mods are the way to go.

Wha?  :-s

I've got 3 region modded consoles and I've never had issue using my flashcard with them.

However I HAVE had problems running my Arcade card through a converter in the past.
