Hear me out.

Hey guys, it is with a very heavy, and humble heart I come to the forums today.  Many of you know that the last couple months have been rough on my family, with my father falling ill and Jimilee having issues with the pregnancy.  Well, the good news is, my father has just about fully recovered and is doing much better.  Now for the bitter/sweet...

We had our baby girl May 7th, and she is just beautiful.  She is perfectly healthy, and everything seems to be in order, except for one thing..  Sutton was born without her soft palate.  Read about that here if you would like to.  http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/birthdefects/cleftlip.html

Basically, we have to start taking her to a specialist starting this coming Monday, to talk about when to have it repaired.  Hers happens to be further back, so it is hard to notice, unless she is crying and her mouth is open.  What this means for her, is difficulty eating, breathing, ect..  We had a pretty good scare last night, and had to call an ambulance.  She spit up a little, and it went into the hole in the soft palate, causing her to choke.  I didnt know how to react, and Jimilee was freaking out.  I was able to hold it together, and suction her mouth and nasal canals, but it was scarey as hell.  She was all arched back trying to breath, and turning blue in the face.  Lets just say, I never want that to happen again.     Anyway, enough of that.  On to what is hard for me to do, but I am going to put it out there anyway.

Basically, my cushion funds have been depleted, and missing more work on top of it now to care for little Sutton.  It is taking a toll, and I need help.  The specialist Sutton needs to see, is in Richmond VA, about 45 minutes from my home and Jimilee cannot drive nor work for 6 weeks.  Basically, I have not started to fall behind yet, but that door is slowly starting to open.  I am not begging by any means, and its hard to even ask for help as I am a proud person that is used to helping others in time of need.    If any of you would like to donate anything at all, I would be most grateful.  Any amount would be appreciated.  My PayPal is jimileelindell@gmail.com if anyone would like to.  Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read this.  All thoughts and prayers are VERY welcome.

I would be happy to organize a "group sale" for bernies benefit.  If anybody is interseted, send me a dupe, or any other turbo related item and i'll list the lot on ebay.
Berns will get all the cash from the auction, and i have at least one game to pitch in and i'll cover the listing/paypal fees.
I know anybody could do this themself, but it could be a good community effort to pull together for the big guy.
If you dont want to, fine, but i hope this finds some interest, and may be easier for some people to help.

Ok, so here's what I propose...

I would like to start a 5 day Ebay auction on June 1st(ish).

If anybody would like to contribute a duplicate game, or any other Turbo related goodness, send me a PM with what you have to offer.
I would like to receive everything by May 25th(ish) in order to take pictures, write the description, and all the other Ebay crap that goes along with a listing.

[ul][li]I will be doing one auction and sell the whole pile as a single lot, with a somewhat low starting bid.[/li][li]Once we have everything, I'll share the details and we can determine a good starting price.[/li][li]I will cover the final value fee and paypal fee.  This way, whatever the auction ends at will go right to Bernie.[/li][/ul]
I do hope a few people would like to circle the wagons and help him out.  Not everybody can give money straight up, so this may be a fun way to chip in.
I think I have a spare Double Dungeons to get the ball rolling.

Please keep in mind, this has nothing to do with what you think of me, this is for Bernie.  He's a terrific member around here and maybe this will help cement what a great place this is.

I was thinking something similar, but I don't know if a lot is the best approach. How about an organized thread sale thread here? Buy what you want, proceeds go to Bernie. I've got some dupes I'd throw to the cause.

Man, you guys are the greatest!  I cannot begin to express the gratitude Jimilee and I are feeling right now.  We both thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  It is such a pleasure to be part of such a great community.
