Tricks for opening a TG-16?
« on: May 11, 2013, 04:04:42 PM »
I bought a region chip off BlueBMW a few weeks ago.  I went to install it tonight, but the security bit I tried to use is too small.  The one I have was purchased for opening NES cartridges, but doesn't work with the TG-16. :(

I don't really want to buy another bit off eBay.  I could, but I'd rather not because it'll take forever to be shipped to me.  Does anyone have any tricks for removing these screws?  Homebrew tools?
I'm busy playing pinball, but I still drop by to visit.

lol, sorry was on my mobile when I wrote that. The appropriate term for that tool should have been simply "slot screwdriver" :)

A slot screwdriver won't work.  It's a security bit.  I'd have to Dremel out the middle for it to even fit.  Maybe I'm not understanding.  :-k

Just get a 4.5mm security bit. Only like $5 on ebay

There are some cheaper bits out there but from the ones I have used this one is much better quality and last a lot longer.
