Playing Dynastic Hero
« on: May 23, 2013, 02:39:10 PM »
So, I decided to start a game of Dynastic Hero, and so far I am really enjoying the game.  I have one complaint however....his damn walking speed...  Please tell me there is some sort of faster boot or something that you pick up along the way.  I find myself pressing the direction button harder, without even realizing I am doing so, to try and force his pudgy little ass to move faster..

i have tried to finish it and played it for a fair amount of time but got board and give up, i didn't like the slow game play and the music playing bits they seem to interrupt the flow of the game. its shame as i love the wonderboy games.

I went on to play last game they did on the megadrive Wonderboy 6 (MonsterWorld 4) realy enjoyed it, looks and plays really well, the little cute creature you get to throw around makes the game diffrent. but the last dungeon is setup to piss you off and make the game longer that's the only down point.

I always wanted a thing called tuna sashemie

^ Bah, Dynastic Hero is awesome.  Terrific soundtrack and excellent use of colours.  Give it time, keep trucking through some of the slower points and buy them boots to speed up your character.  You will be richly rewarded with a top shelf gaming experience.  :)

Heh, his pudgy little ass is always pretty slow. :P But, yeah, you'll get better boots that speed you up to a level that at least feels comfortable and natural enough. It's a great game, so it's worth putting up with him being a little clunky at the beginning.

I found the soundtrack to be quite amazing and the gameplay reminded me of Zelda II

Yeah, DH is the shit. Slow boots at the beginning of the game are common in the Wonderboy series.

Indeed it is!  However, some Wonderboy purists hate the soundtrack.  I've thought about redoing the original soundtrack, with the same general sound as the DH version, though I have too many projects on my plate to do so.  Maybe some day though.

It will happen someday. A decade into the future, when we conversing on these forums (still running SMF 1.1.18 !!!), you'll  tell us how happy you are to have finished the Dynasticboy in Monsterland soundtrack.

It will be glorious.  We'll be running some open-source Windows emulator via our Microsoft X-Brains™ just to get our daily Obey fill. :)
