rrob, I know you said anyone can enter your raffle, but you really ought to consider imposing some loose guidelines for weeding out "raffle-only" "members". Ensuring the game lands in the hands of an individual who contributes to the community at large is what really resonates with folks around here.

Just some friendly advice.
If anyone gets any leads on a "fair priced" copy of Coryoon, please lemme know!

And no i will not tatoo pcenginefx.com any where on my body.
Go with PCE or TG-16.  They won't cost as much in ink.
I'm busy playing pinball, but I still drop by to visit.

Rob and Syphic: Your begrudging, last-minute raffles are very cute. Way to change your tune when the mob's at the gate! Kind of like a life-long atheist repenting on death's door.

Rob: rather than whining objections about being called a thief, how about you man up and apologize OR try to refute the evidence. Please, either one. I'm serious.

In all honestly, I don't see this as a problem unless the person doing the raffle has some sort of rule and/or beef with said person entering.
True, some members don't care. At least Fenix said he didn't care if his winner was an owner. That said, I think I can safely speak for most of us by saying that the joy of giving comes from the happiness in others. Nothing's better than seeing someone excited about a game I don't need.

The reason I'm ragging on poor old Rob is because he perpetually capitalized on altruism to hoard items he already has. Seeing him makeup bullshit about how he "can't wait to play Alien Crush!" when he already owned it makes me sick.

Let's review:
*Rob's participation has been virtually nil since he joined nine months ago.
*Estimated 90% posts in the sale forums, 70% being nothing more than "sign me up" "thanks!" & "congrats!"
*He entered approximately 42 raffles
*14 explicitly forbid dupes/reselling
*5+ of the 42 raffles were for games he already owned. We'll never know the real total.
*He violated the "no dupes" rule of at least 1 member (munchiaz)
*He violated the "active member/active outside sale forum" requirement of four other members.
*He won perhaps 6 raffles.
*He hosted 0 raffles, despite his gushing gratitude for the community, his generous spirit, and "always giving away lots of games" outside of PCEFX.

STATUS: Not to add fuel to this fire (obviously, I want greedy bastards to own up to their greedy ways)...but it is important to state the obvious: whether there are "official" limitations on a raffle or not, vestcoat's main point is correct...a person will be judged by his actions, so it is in his/her best interest NOT to violate the spirit of raffles and goodwill of the community.

Personally, I agree with vestcoat: raffles are for spreading TG-16 love. THAT MEANS SOMEONE WANTS TO PLAY THE DAMN GAME.

NOT, "Oh, if I win this raffle, it will be nice trade bait"
NOT, "Yes! I'll sell this after I futz around with it for 15 minutes"
NOT, "This raffle prize is one more artifact I can add to my collection*"
NOT, "I deserve this, even though I own it."

*New folks should note that I make a distinction between a "library" (where the purpose of a game is to be used/played/enjoyed) VERSUS a "collection" (where the primary purpose of a game is to be "a material possession"). Obviously, I know that I ruffle feathers with my anti-collector stance, and, in reality, most folks have a mixture of both... (now you know why I make time for playing the less-than-stellar titles I own: all games need some love). HOWEVER, I STILL LOVE YOU, EVEN IF YOUR SOLE JOY IS IN COLLECTING. I just think you should let other folks win the raffles. That's all. We really can all live in relative harmony.

BOTTOM LINE: Don't be greedy. And...I believe in giving folks a chance to rectify things. It builds a stronger community.

I dunno.  Seems like Vestcvoat had a point, but it looks like everyone is making an honest effort to make ammends.

Looks like this shit is sorted really.

Usually people with low number of posts do this. I've seen in a few raffles people with 14-15 posts, 12 of which are for entering raffles.
That is, imo, unfair to other people that contributes to other parts of the forum.

I'm not saying rrob is doing this, but all those posts... don't know what to think.

Gotta say, I wish I was half as lucky as him!

im active here as much as a lot of you guys, but some of you know me from other forums or have met me at octurbofest or other meetups.

i know (and have met) rrob. he is a good guy and his heart is in the right place. he spreads the 'obey' word with the best of them, just maybe not as much here. he's a generous dude who gets a lot of people started with nec stuff. maybe he was a little overzelous with all the raffle entries, but it seems like he is trying to make up for this 'infraction'.

and for the record i do a lot of raffles (elsewhere) that he has entered of mine and he has never won. so i hope that lowers his winning percentage a bit. i also openly mock him for never winning any of mine.

rrob seems like a pretty swell guy from what people are saying.  Gets my vote for a second chance.

If rrob would've been posting in the forums outside of sale/raffle threads we might've known that.  It's usually common courtesy to butt the f*ck out of a raffle thread if you already own the game.  That way you can "spread the love of turbo" to someone that (I don't know) doesn't own the game.  I hate to see stuff like this happen to members that are more than likely cool outside of  the forums.  However, how the hell do we know that if they never really post?   Also, maybe people giving raffles should be a little more aware of members entering when they have certain rules.

Sadly true. I put fairly low post requirements on a few of my raffles, but I didn't check the posts of every single person that entered.

Dudes, this has little to do with post counts and overzealous entries. This is about Rob's lying, hording, all round "f*ck you" when it came to the wishes of the people giving away their games.

Soop: I'm willing to give him a second chance too, but it's going to take more than a reactionary "suck it vestcoat!" raffle. I want him to come clean and apologize to the donors he lied to and the noobs he jumped in front of to pick up duplicates.

Cdamm: Rob's actions speak a lot louder than your words. Before you put "infraction" in quotation marks or make unverifiable comments his generosity, try to address ANY of this evidence. I dare you:
