I still have a couple corrections to add, because I managed to type a few things without paying attention to what I was typing, but I'm glad RB managed to find pictures to add to the article. Looks great with the pics in it.

"A PC Engine or TurboGrafx-16 unit is one of the more expensive retro consoles, running $65 to $100."

Ya there may be some good reads but I hate when they quote prices,  I never find them on the "fair" side always on the high (( shrugs))

The old version said it cost about $50, but since then the base prices have gone up a bit. I very specifically listed a range for the system itself and did not go into details with the other bits, since prices vary so darned much over time.

?
Spenoza, you wrote that? Very nice! Do you have any other work floating around out there?

I think I contributed a bit to the original Saturn article, though not so much to the rewrite. I contributed to all the TubroGrafx articles at RB, which is why they all desperately need re-writes  : )  I also wrote a Saturn technical conversion FAQ for SoTN.

A great read but prices are always higher then you think they should be.  This system is expensive to collect for and with all those price gouging ebay sales this will only get worse.

Not a bad read, but a few minor quibbles:

- please get a better pic of that yellow syscard
- ya gotta swap that LA pic for one without the FEKA shit
- no mention of the NEC LA
- where's the other two flashcarts?

The JPN and US LA are pretty much identical, which is why that hardware doesn't get double-billing. Same reason you won't see the white PC Engine Multi-Tap listed under accessories. Where there were at least physical differences it was worth double-listing, but where they are largely identical, no point.

I didn't provide any of the pics. Those came from other sources.

The other two flash carts are now so much overpriced crap, in the face of the competition  : )   But if people are really touchy about them, I can include them.

No need to get defensive.

My LA comments aren't about regional differences - the pic is showing the Sega PAC and controller when it logically should be showing the NEC ones (it's a Turbob article after all), and I'd say the NEC LA deserves at least a mention if the CG I and II, Duo-R and Duo-RX, and TG/PCE SuperCD syscards merit double billings.

You are right about the pic, it would be appropriate to have it with the TG PAC, but I didn't provide the pictures. I don't have most of that hardware to photograph. I just did the text and handed it off for formatting and touch-up. And, in fact, some of the formatting needs some fixing, too...

Hrm, you're right, I did double-list some of the hardware. I guess it felt like it made good narrative sense at the time. The article was already getting pretty lengthy and I was late submitting it, so I decided folks could probably figure out the Tap existed for both systems and as for the LA, I threw it on at the last minute because I realized I forgot about it until the last minute. The LA almost deserves an entire feature just for itself, even if the LA-exclusive titles did largely suck. Didn't Hardcore Gaming or something like that do an entire feature on all the LD-ROM and Mega-LD titles?

Since they were official, mention of the PAL TurboGrafx and Vistar-16 wouldn't be out of place.

Necro, I'm going to take note of your suggestions, but I'm a little burnt out on the article so I'm going to sit on them for a little bit and then send an omnibus revision to RB later.

Anyone wanna get me some pics for the hardware Necro mentions?

I'm pretty sure at this point there's very little hardware BlueBMW doesn't have  : )  Good suggestion. I hope he's a good photographer, too  : )
