dumb question, but hey...I'm a dumb guy
« on: July 12, 2013, 03:59:44 PM »
are there any joystick options for a turboduo?  I have an OG turbo stick for my TG and I don't think there is any type of converter for it to work with a duo, but are there any options out there?  I don't ever recall seeing a stick for the duo, but maybe there were some PCE one's that would work with a US duo?

shit, really?  I would love to be able to use my original one with the duo.  That would be perfect.

I know of 2 sticks that will work with a Duo...the Imagineer and the Hori. Other than those, you would need a TG16 to Duo adapter to us the Turbo Stick on the Duo

Yeah, I'm going to need to look into the converter.  I assume that is my path of least resistance at this point.  A quick ebay search doesn't seem to pull anything up.  I may have to reach out to tggodfrey as turbokon mentioned.

Turbo sticks rule enough said. Shouldn't be that hard to find a converter. Just a thought, has anyone tried using a keyboard converter from din to mini din like this one? http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10416&cs_id=1041601&p_id=1173&seq=1&format=2

Isn't the Duo port the same as all of the Japanese PCE stuff? If so, the XE1 is also an option, but I don't see them come up for sale very often.

But as everyone else said, if you like the Turbo Stick, getting an adapter is probably your best bet. Seems like something anyone who does mod work could probably whip up fairly easily.

There is also the ASCII stick but it has gotten a bit expensive (75.00 + shipping).  I have one and like it a lot but I got it for 45.00 new.  I wouldnt pay anymore.

I do make the adapters to use a Turbostick on a duo.  Thats actually my day to day setup.  I have to look and see what i have currently ready to ship.  Either way I have the materials on hand to make you a 6' adapter.  More than likely it will be white though.  I dont think I have any black cables.

Galam, I will check out the shelf stock and reply back to your PM in the next day or so.

I would love to know if this would work as well.  I need to use my Avenue 6 pad on my Turbo.  This seems like a really simple and cheap solution.

The item in the Monoprice link looks to be a gender changer and not an adapter, so I'm not sure how it would work.

Also, again...anything for the PCE or PCE Duo will work on a US Duo. It's only the TG16 that has the stupid oversized controller port. Right?

It's the wrong connector too (6 pin).

jperyss: Right.

I swapped the cable on a PCE tap with a TG16 controller, and PRESTO! Instant 5 port PCE to TG16 controller converter. Nat had a guide for it if you want to search, you have to swap a couple of cables around but it's not difficult.
