Never knew about this Zonk version of such a disc. That's interesting.

There is the demo disc:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE-OZjDwF7Q

I actually had a copy burned from an original demo disc but gave it to another member here.  Still hoping he can copy it and send me it back.  :-"
All is well. :)

A talking Air Zonk, hah! Yeah, I never saw this thing!! It's a lot better than with Bonk as the mascot and his "Me Bonk, You Player, We Play!" bit... ;)

Never knew about this Zonk version of such a disc. That's interesting. I'm sure you guys know about the 75-in-1 fan-created ISO by the Hugo emulator author (Zeograd). Basically, if a HuCard ROM file is 256 KB or less, it's much easier to make a booter/loader for it to work via the CD-ROM aspect of the system. System Card 3 bumped up the System RAM to 256 KB, so you can load the whole ROM file into RAM without having to reprogram the game to load in sections. So Zeograd did a lot of the 128 KB - 256 KB ROM files in his "Super HuCard CD" project. It's pretty buggy I recall, but that was to be expected given the kinds of changes that have to be made to make it work. Bonk's Revenge is 512 KB, but Hudson Soft had the source code, so a lot easier for them to have gotten that to work out and with no bugs.

The Zonk disc doesn't actually load the game Air Zonk. It just shows Air Zonk instead of Bonk talking about the Merits of the Turbo Duo. Then it goes to the 3 in 1 screen with GoT, Bonks Adventure and Bonks Revenge

Added in edit: And I just saw Roy posted the video. Anyway, it's just those three games on it.

That's super cool! Are the 3-in-1 games full versions or cut down?

So the demo had full versions? I bet it was hard to kick kids off the demo kiosks.

The TG-16 kiosks simply had a HuCARD (e.g. Blazing Lazers) waiting for you. I remember these at Toys-R-Us, but perhaps folks here saw playable kiosks at other stores/chains, too?

The 3 in 1 demo are not full games.  If I remember correctly, you can play each one for a stage or two, before it is done.

About the only thing I remember about the Turbo Kiosks was a playable version of Keith Courage at Toys R Us. Oh yeah, and some weird version of Zelda 2 that had different levels in it.

Zelda 2 ???

That is what I was thinking. This is the first I am hearing of an alternate version of Zelda 2.

I wish I could find a video of it, but basically there is a level that was not in the retail version of Zelda 2. If Toys R Us had a demo archive that would be pretty cool... Anyway I'll start a new thread on this once I get more info so I won't hijack this thread any further...
