Octurbofest 2013
« on: August 06, 2013, 04:51:38 PM »
The Video Game Summit was a blast. It was nice seeing familiar faces as well as new ones. But why wait until MGC for another turbo gathering??

That's right, Turbo Fest is back, but this time with thrills and chills! Behold: Octurbofest!! Back for its second straight year, we will be rocking it out at the best and largest arcade in the Midwest, Galloping Ghost Arcade.

Admission to Octurbofest is $5. Upon entering the establishment, ask for Turbo Fest, and they’ll point you in the right direction.  If you want access to the arcade it’s an additional $15, but all the machines are set to free play and you can stay as long as you want. The event will take place on October 19th. The address of the arcade is 9415 Ogden Avenue in Brookfield, IL which is only a few miles away from Chicago. The show will start at 12 PM and end at 7 PM.

Come experience some of the best games on CD and hu card, including the Super Grafx and many more. And of course, no Turbo Fest is complete without the fun 5-player Battle Lode Runner and Bomberman 94 matches. Plenty of turbo/pce systems will be available for play.

Here is a video from last year's show which featured an epic 20 player Sonic Spike tourney:

Come join us for an obey filled day of fun.

Let’s keep the good times rolling!

SignofZeta: What a quintessentially PCEFX thread. Someone complains about nothing, multiple Bible-length posts discussing who's a bigger a$$hole follow. You're both pretty big a$$holes. Let's call it a tie.

Fingers crossed - if the schedule holds up I should be there, at least for Saturday.

If anyone's on the fence - this is a really fun time without all of the distractions of MGC (or even VGS for that matter). Think we had 6 or so TVs set up with Turbo/PCE, Neo-Geo, Sharp x68000 and others running all day last year.

As far as I know, my sister and I should be able to make it out there again this year.  Looking forward to it!

Hey now, no mounting of ISO's, now.  Only real hardware at Octurbofest.   :!:

DOn't be silly he was talking about mounting the real hardware.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

Spenoza: The wannabe masculinity just overwhelms.
