nice episode, my only minor gripe was the use of non-era photos for many of the hockey players you mentioned

That's fair.  My priority when looking for still images to include in my videos is the quality of the image.  So while it would have been really cool for all of the images to hail from the early 90's, it would have meant lower quality pictures in many cases.

If you do a similar video in the future, maybe just pick up a complete set of one of the overproduced hockey card series for that year? I still find cheap sealed boxes of packs from the early to mid 90's at random corner and dollar stores.

I think NHL '94, as odd as it may sound, is my favorite video game, ever.  I am not sure of a game I have played more over the twenty-two years it has been out.  I can always pick it up.

Thanks for the video, J.

Jibb - I commented on the video but also want to follow up with you here too and tell you how much I enjoyed the episode. I thought it was great, and really enjoyed how much you talked about Jim Simmons, and wish I could've talked to you and told you some stories from him and George who I worked with a couple years ago for a while, and they told me a bunch of great stories. George (Jim's brother who did most of the art for the game, a fact that might've added some more flavor to the video) did the sprites in 3D and baked them down and then painted over them. He told me that it allowed him to animate one character in 3d, then have consistent scale and not have warping/morphing in the different directions. It was awesome working with those guys, and am so proud to have a credit along side them on a title :)  I probably could've gotten you an interview with them, hindsight doh!

Am I the only one who wants MOAR Classic Gaming Quarterly?

And shouldn't he use the branding I created for him?

Yes, of course he should do BOTH.

:)

I'm still working on the next episode.  I had a really hard last few months at work/school and CGQ had to take a back seat, unfortunately.

Awesome, been looking forward to this since it was mentioned on retro blast! :D On that note, while I do dig the Vive cast, I hope you guys get back together and do some more retro blast episodes in the future.

Thanks TR0N!

Sadler, I totally agree.  I miss Retroblast and wish he hadn't switched formats.  But I understand where he's coming from.  He got that Vive deal and it's all he cares about right now, gaming-wise.  So doing a retro podcast would just seem like a chore for him.  Hopefully he comes back to it.
