Hi guys,
I thought I'd put this out there. A lot of you are my age and collected similar objects in your youth. So here is one that I need help with.
Back when I was 16 (24 years ago) I use to frequent a local hobby store. Stacked on the wall with all the snap n' glue model cars, planes, and boats were some model kits, but these were different. They were models you made out of building blocks. They may have been compatible with LEGO, but I don't think so (my memory is foggy). Anyway, the ones I use to buy were all navy ships. Small aircraft carriers, destroyers, etc. The aircraft carriers included one piece white airplanes and the destroyers had one piece gun turrets.
I can't for the life of me remember who made this. I'm assuming Tamiya, or some other model company. They were not incredibly expensive, and they were built well. It didn't feel cheap like the knock off LEGO of today.
Anyway, that's all I have to go on. I can try to answer questions, but really I'm tapped out. Here is something similar looking, but this is an actual model, not bricks you assemble. The reason I'm posting it is because the airplanes were a similar type.
