I just picked up Ghost Manor for a $29 BIN shipped free.  Hoping it gets here by Thursday, I've never played it.  (not expecting much).

Also, let's not leave out...

Black_Tiger helped me give this game a fifteenth chance and it has grown on me.

However, it can be quite frustrating at times.

Temcos Deception for the PS1. That game rules. I'm surprised that noone mentioned Ghouls N Ghosts or Ghost House for the Master System. Other honorable mentions The Gargolyes quest series.

These all sound like great suggestions!  Sadly, I don't have 99% of 'em.  :/  Keep 'em coming!

I came back in here to say Haunted House and Ghost Manor.  I'm sure there are a few others on Atari, but a lot of great games have been mentioned already.

I just thought of a funny one that used to scare me when I was little.  Tunnel Runner for 2600.  When the music changed from calming to creepy and that big face came after you.

Edited: to mention another game that used to scare me with a music change when I played late at night, but definitely not scary  Fairy Tale Adventure for Genesis.  It was very calming exploring the countryside and as soon as enemies were coming they played a loud guitar rift type of sound.

And a game for this gen that I thought was really scary and two more randoms

Condemned Criminal Origins (XBOX360)
Dracula Unleashed (Sega CD)
Dracula Undead (Lynx)

Alone in the Dark is one that hasn't been mentioned yet.

Also steam is having a sale on Halloween themed games until Nov 1st, so anyone w/ a steam account should check it out.

Jigoku meguri (aka bonze adventure, hell explorer)

nothing like traversing through 7 stages of hell purging all evil as a bald monk using holy water and prayer beads and with a bunny in your backpack !!

I probably be playing :

Animal Crossing too with an halloween event

Soul Hackers on DS
Magical Chase
SplatterHouse
Deathsmiles

nothing special, some times Castlevania 1, other times MD Ghouls and ghosts, other times Ninja Gaiden 2. This will be the first Halloween I spend at home with my PCE so intend to play Dracula X and Splatterhouse.
Gaming since 1985
