I just hope they know how to save their money. Don't go out and have $25,000 bar tabs. What are you gonna do for money once you retire from football? Most of them go broke. Others manage to find other careers.
This is the part that gets me the most, I think. There's a lot of wasted money in sport-land. One of the local Brown's players has a few houses here, AND he doesn't even f*cking tip pizza delivery drivers. I know this because myself and others delivered pizza to him. 200$ pizza bill, zero tip.
f*ck that.
Supply and demand dictates the value of both goods and employees.
If you were the best programmer on Earth and 100,000,000 people were going to buy the thing you were programming when you released its episodic content each Sunday... you would be worth every cent of the high amount you were getting paid to make that content.
Right. This doesn't explain the absurd pay grade for bench warmers. I'd like to get paid to wear a jersey and drink Gatorade on the sidelines.
There is a mammoth difference between what someone like Peyton Manning is doing and what some kid on a high school football field is doing. That is why he makes more in a year than we will make our entire lives,
There is not a mammoth difference. He's just better at throwing a ball than the highschool kids, because he's been throwing it longer. The only difference really, is time. It's still the same game with the same retarded rules.
because he is A.) physically gifted, B.) has worked exceptionally hard to hone his craft,
If he's gifted, he shouldn't have really had to work hard at all to hone the craft, lol.
and C.) millions of people want to watch what he can do. There is a reason Denver is the Primetime game every week, because of one man, and the demand he commands. This in turn sells tickets, jerseys, advertising time, etc. To say he doesn't deserve that money is just foolish. He makes more a year than the people on this forum combined because none of us could fill a stadium with people paying $50+ a pop or get advertisers to pay over a million dollars for a 3 minute commercial break.
I get it. He's a celebrity, and he's paid stupidly as a result. However, this is just one person. It doesn't explain all the other jackasses in the NFL that get paid more than us as well, and they don't do a damn thing.
I always laugh when there's someone in a panic about a football injury.
THIS COULD RUIN HIS CAREER OHNOOOO.
Well, maybe they should've honed something a little more productive than being really good at throwing a ball to someone who's probably going to spend his paycheck on sluts, drugs, or a 35th house.
I don't know for certain, but I don't think there are too many football players who donate alot of their income to something productive.
I mean, Browns stadium is surrounded by a shitty neighborhood. If you siphoned off money from all of the Browns' salaries and still left them well off, the money could be used to do something useful.
It's not like those dumbdicks are going to win a game any time soon.
