 Did anyone else enjoy this Sega Sports title?

Enough arcade and simulation mixed for the ultimate football experience.

Blitz entertained me more.  Madden Plays Better overall for me.  NFL2k was just a another generic game to play with bros at the time for me.

Who plays sports games? 

"So how bout them PC ENGINES"

Im on my third Franchise season. 2k5 Franchise mode is ages ahead of its time. So many details, this is like a football RPG. Your players gain XP and you can take a lowly receiver and turn him into Jerry Rice if trained correctly. After a while you learn who all your players are, and then its like Pokemon in the sense you have to catch the best ones your salary cap can afford.

2k5. Best Football game ever created . Must be played on a 360 since it updates it and bugfixes it (plus HDMI rules).

Sega and Visual Concepts had a clear gem here that was thwarted by those ass-pirates at EA and the NFL when they signed that damned exclusive rights deal in 2005.  2K5 is a near perfect football game and the online community still remains somewhat active even today on Xbox live when using a 360 to play the original Xbox game. It's a real shame they had such an odd create a franchise mode on All Pro 2K8, because the game was also very well done as far as the actual football game/physics go.


I've been on the NFL2K bandwagon since the launch game for Dreamcast and have been playing the series ever since.

I can't think of a single Madden game that was better (other than Madden Duo CD Football vs. Joe Montana Football on the Sega CD) and would LOVE to see a full blown NFL 2k14 go up against the recent installment.

^Well EA's deal is over. Everyone is saying next year we get 2k14. Im very happy playing 2k5 still. Its a football sim, not like EA where the stats arent even realistic. With the difficulty on max in every category Im 40-3 in 3 seasons so far.

The first time I watched the auto-generated half time show, my head almost exploded. really ahead of its time.
