Brand new sealed Cosmic Fantasy 2s everywhere

I just bought one on ebay for $45 right?  So now I look and the same seller has another one up, plus ANOTHER seller has one up too.  What the hell?  Did somebody find a box of these under a desk at Working Designs old office or something?

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

That's interesting.
I read an article a couple of month ago about a company that bought the rights to re-print titles for the PS2, like Rez. They did and made them available. However, in that same article they were also talking about potential Turbo titles that may be printed by the same company, and Cosmic Fantasy was in the list. Maybe they finally did it...

Just found it !

GAMEQUESTDIRECT

They definitively mention Cosmic Fantasy 2:

What’s next in 2006 for the publisher/retailer? Recently they purchased the now defunct Working Designs’ remaining inventory. Copies of Growlanser: Generations Deluxe Edition, and Silhouette Mirage can be picked up. What’s really surprising is a number of extremely rare titles like Sega Ages for the Saturn, Exile, and Cosmic Fantasy 2 for Turbo Graphix 16. They’re currently in talks with Square-Enix, Atari and Konami for more reprints. It’s possible that reprints of Valkyrie Profile, Ikaruga and Suikoden II may pop up eventually. Collectors take note, Game Quest Direct said that they would try to reprint

Damn, it sucks that Working Designs didn't have any Exile IIs or Parasol Stars still, I would love to have sealed copies of those.

I'm THIS close to ordering an Exile also, there's just something so cool about sealed Turbo Duo games at reasonable prices.

I never thought I'd see the day that TG-16 games were re-printed. AWESOME!

interesting.  On the WD site i remember all of thier TG games except for CF2 and Exile said "out of stock" or "out of print" but CF2 and Exile had prices by them.  i was always confused because there was never an icon to click on and buy games or any kind of shopping cart system on their site so i figured they didn't really have any stock to sell.  looks like they did after all.

well, I ordered a copy of CF2 and Exile from GameQuestDirect.   Should take about a week or so to get them.  Has anyone else ordered from them before?

Can't wait to get them.  I've had Exile 2 for the longest time and haven't even played Exile yet.

Exile is a great game. You'll most likely end up saying to yourself, "It's over? Noooo, this game is too short! I want more!"

Man Emerald Rocker was telling me about all this stuff they changed in the US version of Exile, like in the Japanese one Sadler blatantly kills christians, muslims, buddists, and some other religion's god.  He said it was basically extremely offensive to all religions, but WD had to change the names of all the religions for the US version so they wouldn't offend anyone.  What a kickass game, I bet I missed some of the references to religions back when I beat it years ago, I REALLY need to get another copy of it now and see if I can spot all the stuff they changed.

Can someone confirm if that's true? If so, that's pretty sweet :D .

Well, in the US version, you can tell he's killing Knights of Christendom, which would be the Templar Knights(which really existed.....& supposedly still exist).  I thought it was pretty much a revolt against the crusades, atleast, that was my impression.  I have the Japanese version, & I haven't noticed anything different about it that I can think of right now.  I think the last area in the game, is based off of grease & Socrates, but I could be wrong.  There's that one area, where people pretty much worship sex & alchohol right before the library place.

Oh yeah, & that'd be great, though I doubt it'd happen, if they got the right to publish World Heroes, & King of the Monsters 2 for Turbo.  I'd eat that up in a heartbeat!

To follow-up on Paranoia's post: Bakkas (or something like that, my memory is failing me) is the level that was based on Bacchus / Bacchanalia. I think nodtveidt provided some sreenshots in my old thread (see link below) in which the women in the Japanese version are nekkid... but the sprites are so tiny ...

You've got to be kidding me, right? I had no idea, but I took a wild guess in my old thread (about censoring / sanitizing North American Turbo games) that Exile might deal with religion in a manner that might offend folks. I based that on the simple fact that Exile mentions the (infamous) Templar Knights in the intro cinema (or early in the game).

CALLING ZIG: "Hey, how come you didn't share the good stuff with me? I think you elaborated on some other games I was curious about... but nothing on Exile!"

Of course, I always wonder if Emerald pulls pranks on folks and spreads misinformation... :)

Perhaps the original computer Exile games had all of this good stuff... but it was sanitized for the console?
