I think NEC Avenue should have done the port. Asmik can't be excused, considering their Shinobi port was bad.

I've tried it before, and I didn't find it fun.

:?:

their shinobi port wasn't bad it was just incomplete

which sure makes it kinda bad, but for other resons than amateurism and inability.

Power Drift was the game that was ALWAYS running on the TurboGrafx-16 in-store display at my local game rental shop back in the day. They didn't rent it out, though. I always thought it looked kind of choppy and sparse. Is the Saturn version exactly like the arcade?

The Saturn version is a step down from the arcade but still a very very close port. I am trying (and failing) to track down Yu Suzuki Gameworks on the Dreamcast so I can play the best home port. Listen to Power Drift's soundtrack while driving. Best "goin' down the highway" music around!

I don't much care for the Yu Suzuki games on the Dreamcast. The audio is emulated wrong. The car is changed in Out Run, etc.

yeah, the changed testarossa into that super ugly wanna be a ferarri car that couldn't have been designed any worser, was the biggest downer in shenmue/yu book version of outrun.

anyway saturn sega age outrun is the best version ever of that game.. even better than the arcade to more than just one reason.

Yes and the arranged soundtrack in the JP version isn't too shabby, either!

I've not heard the Japanese version's tunes. I'll add it to my Saturn 'want' list.

I would happen to have an extra copy (formerly for bemby) lying around here. I could send it to benby (with some other stuff..one day) and he could then trade it or watever to you :)

Outrun on PCE rules. My fave driver though for the system by far is Knight Rider
