Ultra - Way better than just regular Konami
Sunsoft - Sillius, Batman, RotJ,
FCI - Purely for the NES ports of Ultima Exodus and Quest of the Avatar along with the SNES port of False Prophet.
Rare -RC Pro-Am, Battletoads
Technos/American Technos - Super Dodge Ball, Kunio, River City Ransom, Double Dragon.

Nintendo, Hudson and Sega for obvious reasons

EDIT:  Just realized my list is very close to TR0N's.  *Dorky internet high five*

LOL.  Ocean?  You must've played a lot of Amiga or Atari ST back in the day to use that company in this thread.  I sure liked them.  I loved Ivanhoe.

hahaha ivanhoe was my first own amiga game. i so loved it for its nice colors and big arcade bumped sprites, very despit the fact that it run in like 5fps and its gameplay was probably the worst ever to experience

also a just let the sword intro run for like hours non-stop, because I was so proud of my newly get amiga

My dad was the one who rented me the VB and I was only 10 when the movie came out...

In all seriousness Water World was covered 100% in a issue of NP as a full walkthrough.  It's just that the movie failed so hard (don't worry I still love you) that they didn't bother bringing it to NA like originally planned. I had that issue and I thought it looked pretty cool and I always wanted to play it ever since I was a kid.

I also thought somebody would get a kick out me mentioning Ocean.  They made a lot games based on movies and many of their games were of dubious quality lol.

My personal favorite developers from the 8 and 16-bit eras.
Nintendo
Konami
Capcom
SquareSoft
Hudson
Sega
Telenet
GameArts
Rare
Taito
Enix
SNK
Data East

I'm not covering companies who only published games like Working Designs, since it's about developers.
