2D gaming on PS3
« on: January 02, 2014, 03:12:06 AM »
I tried a demo of Rayman on the PS3; Ubisoft has some amazing artist, and it got me wondering, are there any other standout 2D games on the system?

good choice. I would say 3D dot game heroes as well. Don't like the name fool you, its a Zelda clone, but a awesome one at that

Now when you say 2D do you just mean graphics wise? Because street fighter 4 uses 3D characters, but the game is on a 2D plain so its technically a 2D game.

Also add king of fighter XIII to the list

ok, well then yeah, street fighter 4 is always a good one, and they are updating to ultra SF4 in a few months, so theres that to look forward to. Theres street fighter x Tekken, which i don't like, but i know a few people who enjoy it. Skull girls is another awesome 2D fighter, and then you have the blazblue games as well

I wish they did an entire game of the 2d levels in Splatterhouse.

Forgot there was Contra on the PS3 as well.

Munchiaz - Ultra SF4 wtf? then again it is Capcom and it is Street Fighter. May have to pick that one up.

Any 2D platformers other than Rayman?   I know there's Puppeteer, but I haven't played it. While the game is "3D" it seems to have a 2D platformer feel to it.

Little Big Planet is boss. I hate how they went overboard with that sticker bullshit but overall it is a very good platformer.
