Pirate games....
« on: April 20, 2006, 09:58:46 AM »
Anyone got any?

I'm getting some stuff tomorrow and included in the bundle is a pirate of Tiger Heli. It comes in an odd box and is apparently a larger HuCard with an EPROM on it according to the guy I am buying it off.

So what have you guys got?

I lost a bid on a 4-in-1 HuCard a few years ago. That is the only pirate HuCard I've ever came close to owning. I haven't seen too many, though I never actually sought them out.

I have meant to tell lkermel that the 4-in-1 HuCard I was lusting for was a PUZZLE compilation, including: BLODIA, BOXYBOY, _______, and ______. I used to remember all four games, but at this moment I'm coming up short. It most certainly was a volume in this series.

Anyway, I saved a picture of the item... only to lose it somehow (it was 2-3 years ago). I have some old archive CD's I can look through, but it's unlikely I saved it.

BLODIA was pirated! I'm not making this up.

I have the following "pirated" PCE HuCards:

Formation Soccer Human Cup '90 (HuGO Soft    251-103)
Mahjong Gakuen Touma Shiro Tojo (HuGO Soft    251-125)
Splatterhouse (King TL89003)
4-in-1 (#3) (King TL89003)

the #3 4-in-1 contains Bomberman, R-Type II, Alien Crush and Kaizou Ningen Shubibinman

The last 2 have the same catalog number since "King" just used the same case but replaced the manual. ..they both just simply say "PC-E GAME" on the spine).

I have a 3-in-1 with like Basketball USA, Bull Fight and Dodgeball... or something.

To play different games you just reset and one randomly comes up.

It looks like a regular HuCard with a pack of matches on it.

I seem to recall a NES game, a shooter, that involved both a tank and a helicopter; and I think the art on the box comes from that. I just can't remember the name of the game right now.

Indeed it is. What does the other side of the box look like? I don't think lkermel has a pic of it on his site.

I only got that bootleg Sapphire and a couple of the Games Express games.  Nothing as interesting as those Chinese/HongKong cards.

Hi Guys !

I can not believe I missed this thread !!!! Thanks a lot for the amazing info you posted here !!! especially for the 4-in-1 Hucards !!!!
Could you check, like for mine, if the copyright information was removed from the games ? This would mean that those ROMs are different than the original HuCard games. I've never finished any of them though, but I wonder if they also removed any copyright info the end credits too...

Yeah, all copyright info was deleted off the Ultimate Tiger pirate jobby I have. Never got off level one though(Mainly because I don't like the game) so I can't tell you about the ending.

I have a pirate of Ulitmate Tiger, that is a standard Hucard, with the label on the spine saying PC-Card PC-E GAME NO.3.  The booklet unfolds, rather then opens like a normal booklet, & there's some very basic pics & info on how the game works, & about the stages on either side of the unfolded booklet.  And there's no copyright info anywhere!  But, like I said, it's a regular Hucard, works perfectly, comes in a Hucard slip & everything.  I got it off ebay awhile back, not knowing it was a pirate until I got it.  I always did think it was wierd saying PC-E game, but didn't totally think about it being a pirate until now

And now that I think about it, I think it was shrinkwrapped when I got it.  And I'm looking at the back of the card, it say PC-CARD, then a bunch of Japanese stuff, then some notes of what not to do to the card, in english, & finally KING & some japanese.  And looking at the original at PCECP.com, I can see they removed the top left HE System PC Engine, but putting a small picture of the snake from the front cover, colored pink.  And the entire bottom half of the booklet has a red bar, covering up Taito's info.
