Sinistron vs Sinistar
« on: January 17, 2014, 10:35:22 AM »
Both of these games are extremely popular and considered the best of their respective genres, that genre being "video game". This important question can ONLY BE ANSWERED HERE in an internet forum poll!

Anyone who does not have an opinion on the matter will be banned for 30 seconds.

Sinistar is more important to me and is one of my favorite games due to nostalgia.

Sinistron is technically better overall as a game.

Why not include Violent Soldier as a poll option?

To me, Sinistar was a little more important to the genre and it was one of the games that lead me into the shmup (I guess it'd be considered an early one?) genre. Sinistron is pretty awesome itself, but I'm gonna vote Sinistar.

There's no way older folks can choose anything but SINISTAR. I loved that game in the arcade. I've never seen the friggin' huge cabinet that PicnicCyborg posted, though. Crazy.

Now, I like Sinistron, but it definitely suffers from the ANONYMOUS, NAMELESS protagonist & enemy hordes syndrome.

That said, I've grown fonder and fonder of Sinistron over the years.  What I thought was a mediocre/average shoot-em-up on TG-16 back in 1991 has held up a lot better than I thought it would in 2014. I am unabashedly fond of standard 80's shoot em up conventions (I feel the same about CyberCore).

SINISTAR will always have a special place in my heart, but it is such a very different experience that I can't even find a common thread, other than the fact that I get FRUSTRATED by both games. Ha!

I did run into Sinistar at the arcade, and I do remember liking the way that hexagonal thing with the face would come after you after a certain amount of time or something. I vaguely remember that part.

Anyway, I'd have to go with Sinistron. I remember it better, it's a more modern shooter and I'll just vote as a NEC fan boy here to be done with the poll and not have my memory tested on exact details with these two. ;)

Why not include Violent Soldier as a poll option?

Because even though it contains the word "sini" the letters are not arranged that way at the start of its name.

Tampons doesn't contain "i" at all, even if it is a great game.

I tried to vote for Sinistron (OBEY or GTFO!), but had to settle for Sinstron.

Oh snap, he tore that dance floor up! Hehe! So your point is, if you wanna see a real jackass, check out the guy in the video, but ignore the guy in this thread that misspelled Sinistron, huh ?? ;)

Well, I guess that was a good answer as that folk dancing is not something you see every day, that's for sure! Nicely done Josh, I suppose! :P
