I think I opened a can of worms with this one!  I have not noticed the wide variation of quality you listed at all and I've eaten these places routinely for years.

Lou Malnati's -   I usually eat at the downtown Naperville or the Elk Grove Village locations.  The pizza pie is consistently been the same at both locations.  I have noticed that if you order the deep dish to go and let it sit 20 minutes before you eat it, it gets soggy.  Eating it fresh in the restaurant is never like this...  maybe since it never leaves the hot metal pan the pizza sits in.

Giordano's - Consistant from location to location.

Uno's - Consistant from location to location.

Rosati's - Same consistancey no matter where I ordered from in the Chicago area.  I can't speak for any other location outside the Chicagoland area... (I.e. Champaign IL??)

Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that.  Sorry you got some bum pies from the places I mentioned as  I really enjoy all of them.  We live close enough to each other we should meet up sometime and talk games and I'll buy the pizza.

Yep, you're within walking distance of my house. We can definitely figure something out between now and MGC.

Even though Gino's East is a tourist trap shithole, this recipe is actually really really good:

I like Gino's East. But I've run into slight inconsistencies there as well. About 8 times out of 10 it's good, 1 time it will be a little off, and 1 time they'll ruin it.

Resorted to Rolling Rock. :(

My fallback goto is High Life. Like 420goat, I also have many personal attendants that keep it on hand and cold for me about everywhere in the US.

A local store starting carrying Stoney's as an alternative to PBR.

My neighbor who moved down from the north swears by Old Style

I had *a lot* of High Life back in college so whenever I have drink that now it reminds me of the good/bad/ugly old days.  Mostly good.

I used to drink PBR, but I think because its so popular with the hipsters these days, the price has gone up. Stoneys doesn't look like a cheap PBR alternative. I'll keep an eye out for it.

I've never tried Old Style either. The sad thing is the local "discount" beer and liquor store charges more than the local grocery store. And the local grocery store has a pretty limited selection.  I have to drive a good 15 minutes away to find a decent selection, and I'm just too lazy for that.

Back on topic, I'm still planning to make it up to MGC this year as well, though the crystal ball is still a bit hazy due to work craziness and me not being with them very long.

You're missing two weddings. I understand though. They way we had to set it up would make it hard for any of you guys to attend.

There's no way I'm making it unless an extra $1200 falls in my lap over the next 30 days. Sorry. :(
