Well, the one I'll admit to was smoking out with a former child actor at a house party in Boulder some time around 2003. Someone told me (it might have been the dude himself) who he was, but basically we just shot the shit about punk. I remember both of us thinking Millencolin was awesome.

Sammy Sosa.  When I was in college back in the '90's, I worked nights as a doorman for a high rise luxury apartment on the north side of Chicago.  One night someone calls the desk and says it's Sammy Sosa, and that he is stopping by to see someone in the building and to call her up.  I was like, uh-huh, OK, "Sammy."  He was like "Dude, this is Sammy Sosa."  Anyway I called up the resident and as it turns out, she did know him.  And then, Jiminy Christmas guess who walks through the door about 30 minutes later?  The roided out Cubs slugger himself.

Over the couple years I worked there I ran into a few other local sports players, coming in at 3:00 a.m., some slobbering drunk.  There were some residents in the building who provided high-priced "escort" services, allegedly.

Let's see:

Many small timers but here are a few that people may know:

Rex Tillerman - got to chat a bit with him.

The Current and previous 3 governers of NJ - mostly meet and greet handshake stuff

Yogi Berra - spent quite a bit of time with him, talking about his grandchildren. Yogi is insanely nice.

Daniel Tosh - got to meet and chat with him for about 5 minutes, kinda a jerk behind the scences but he was awesome to the fans at the show.

Steve Martin - he was on the morning talk show, so the interaction was quick, but he was super funny.

Hillary Clinton - handshake was about all

President Obama - Handshake and got to thank him for taking time to talk to the youth group I was with/ leader for.

NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

Spenoza: The wannabe masculinity just overwhelms.

Almost forgot - I hung out with Our Lady Peace back in College when they played near UVA. The guitar player was a doucher, ran on about himself for 30 minutes and basically saying that "back in Canada we only play stadiums, etc" (the venue was a medium sized rock club). Raine was a decently nice guy but didn't hang out too long. Bass player was really cool (I've noticed that the bass player in all the bands I've met is usually the nicest person).

Countless athletes.
Korn (meh)
Probably most notable is all the pro skateboarders I met in the 90's when they would do crackpot "tours". Essentially just pile a dozen in a van to hit regional skateparks and other street spots. We had to take what we could get in New England. They didn't come often.
I was also an extra for a Spike Jonze project, so that was cool.

When I am in NYC, I see celebrities pretty regularly.  I guess it is kind of cooler to see them in the wild, than at a nerd convention.  Recently I walked by Howie Mandel by MSG and said "hey" and he put his head down and ran away.

When I was in China Town I saw the guy that plays Daryl on Walking Dead on a corner waiting to cross the street.  He was wearing a hat and kinda incognito, so I had to stare a minute to be sure it was him.  He caught a glimpse of me giving him the investigative stare, at which point he turned to the woman he was with and said "walk faster."  It was pretty awesome.

I'm sure most people "walk faster" when they see you.

I've met Black Sabbath and Dio, countless sports Juggernauts from going to the U.  Springsteen is from my home town so he was a common staple, many celebs in NYC.

Lots of people I think. As a projectionist for several film festivals I've shown famous people their own movies while they were in the audience. Peeps like David Lynch. Others I remember off the top of my head: Saw Roger Ebert wandering around by himself but didn't want to talk to him.I had nothing of interest to say or ask. I don't just wanna say things like "I love ur work lol" or in his case "I'm indifferent to ur work lol". Oh and Jason Alexander (from Seinfeld) actually directed a movie once about 12 or 14 years ago and I showed it to him. It was kind of funny because he was almost uppity (not rude) about how he was directing his actress. Kind of like asserting his directing power. Saying how he made a non-smoking actress smoke for a role or some shit. He might have been trying to play it off with humor and it just came off the wrong way, I suppose. I've also met most of the OG and NG Star Trek folks but have not had sexual relations with Betty White. William Shatner re-tweeted me a few times as well. Oh and when showing the movie "Hope Floats" Sandra Bullock was sitting right in front of the door to the projection booth to avoid sitting in the actual test audience. I had to step over her legs to get in and out. I didn't even know it was her until someone told me, I just knew this lady was part of the show so I just did my best to to my job without causing a ruckus. Showed 3 different cuts of Independence Day months before release, all of them were better than the final cut. One used Apollo 13 music as the temp music track. I think the director was there but would never recognize him. The prints were awesome, we had to sync the projector to a magnetic dubber to run the soundtrack. Every cut in the movie was a physically taped splice. We also did this with Die Hard 3 but Bruce was NOT there. There's been more, I think.

But the most famous person I ever met is the guy who has actually spoken to James Rolfe, the AVGN. It's almost as good as meeting the man who met Andy Griffith.
