No you don't -- do you know how embarassing it is to be beaten at Bomberman by a Chihuahua?

Well, no, neither do I, I can only imagine...and it ain't pretty.

he's probably cruising the world in a private jet with those suitcases handcuffed to his wrists.  all the while knocking off upstart collectors and extorting protection money from vintage game dealers.

Hehe, the Pedigree story :D . The rice parts are actually eatable (not particularly good, mind you) and doesn't taste nearly as terrible as the rest of the dog food :( . Just so you guys know, I'm the kind of guy who will try absolutely anything and I'd love to go to some weird tribe in Africa or whatever that eats various bugs and stuff. Not saying I would enjoy it, but I would certainly love to try that  .

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Oh man, you don't even want to know, especially when people offer money.

Impressive for sure.  And BT, that's pretty sick.

But I think David Shadoff probably has everyone beat, yes?

I am not sure on where exactly Dave's PCE collection stands... I know that it is cetainly comparable to the one that I have, with probably at least 90% commonality.

That other 10% though.... =)

No idea, and honestly, I don't care.  "Adol" has never really been terribly civlized when it comes to discussion (at least to me).

I was always under the assumption though that he was more interested in marking up and selling off rather than collecting.

I always thought George P. had more or less the largest collection.  No particular reason except for the fact that he lived in Tokyo (still there?) for a while when it was relatively easy to find any kind PCE stuff.  He told me about the time when he bought Darius Alpha (first time he had seen it in stores) for like $350.  That was probably like 9-10 years ago now.

Also, one of the "underground" Japanese game/console hacking magazines called Game Labo featured George and his PCE collection.  Pretty cool article.  I think I still have the magazine.  It was back in 99-2000 when it came out I believe.

I actually had a few chances to meet George when I went to Tokyo a while back.  Unfortunately, our schedules never matched up.  :(

Amazing collection, bt. What is the rarest released PCE/TG game, anyway? Dead of the Brain maybe? Dynastic Hero US?

All depends what you mean by released.

Commercially released would probably have to be "Akiyamajin no Suugaku Misuteri - Hihou Indo no Honoo wo Sisyu Seyo" -- This wasa Mook release, and reportedly goes for about 150K Yen when it is available.

As for the rarest non-commercial released games, probably the 2 gold HuCards (Power League All Stars and Youkai Douchuuki).  When seen, these sell for 200K to 250K Yen.  I am not sure how or why these were released, but I know the numbers were few.

Just my opinion.
