Keep in mind there are only around 300 copies of US Magical Chase potentially in existence.  Probably less as some no doubt have been lost or destroyed over time.
[Sun 23:29] <Tatsujin> we have hard off, book off, house off, sports off, baby off, clothes off, jerk off, piss off etc

And then you have the people that have it, but will never let it leave their collection, so take those off of the number as well. 300 was much less than I expected though. Watch what this sells for in a couple more years...

I remember buying MC new when it came out and selling it when I was a broke and pennyless college student in the late 90's on ebay for about $96.00 if I remember correctly (also sold a mint condition Vasteel, complete with slip cover for $34.00 around the same time...)

Yeah, I wish held on to it and it would be nice to have it as the center piece of my gamming collection today, but I never thought any TG16 stuff would ever be worth anything.  Wrong!

On the plus side of things, after I sold the games it gave me a break from Ramen Noodles for a while when I was in college.

I heard that number was inflated and about 5 2/3 copies exist.

I think that 300 number was from the print run thread we had a while back, where some employee knew things that no one else knew.  Specifically, the game sold poorly, most were returned and destoyed...  as was common practice w/ excess stock.

Sources...  But of course I could be wrong...   8-[

I wasnt trying to validate the high price just provide a possible explanation as to why it is so difficult to find at all.

Can't we cut this guy some slack, he offered more then a fair amount for the game. There is no reason to beat up on the guy just because he is a lurker, some people are not much for contributing and instead read and absorb.

Anyone who pays 5000$ for a game is an idiot.   Go buy the Japanese one.  Who cares if the graphics "aren't as good"

the games still just as run of the mill.

The amount of Japanese in the game is so minimal it does not affect gameplay at all.

Damn right.  $5K for something you can't even take to the next life.
