Space Adventure II?
« on: April 29, 2006, 09:32:45 AM »
I found an import Super CD-ROM2 game at a local shop. The front of the manual had a man and woman on the cover against a space backdrop. The main title was in large characters, but in smaller text it said in english "Space Adventure" and then "II" in another location. The spine was green at the top, and black. Can someone help me identify this game? I did some searches and couldnt find anything. [I didnt buy it because I wasnt sure if it was a heavy text adventure or something] Any help would be appreciated; thanks.

Edit: Sorry, I think this should be moved to the PC-Engine forum.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

If you get it, let me know if it's completable without knowing Japanese. I played through the first one but got stuck at a number-code thing.

It is definitively Cobra 2:

COBRA 2

I personnaly think you need to know a fair bit or japanese to get your way around... but if you do, Cobra2 is a great game !
I've heard that a translated version of the game was available for the Sega CD. I'd loooove to find a copy.
Finally, I never managed to get Cobra 2 to work on any PCE emulators... has anyone been luckier than  me ?

Laurent, Cobra 2 never worked in ME 0.99, but it does in ME 1.0 :)

Indeed, the game's great -- it's much better in Japanese than in English, but I think we've already talked about the Sega CD port before. However, I have to warn that a couple of puzzles towards the end are potentially show-stoppers.
