Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Thanks for all that great info; I really appreciate it. With all those tiny differences, the ports of Cadash reminds me of when they ported Sunset Riders to the consoles, I could probably write a term paper on that. "bury me ...with my... money." Thanks again.

Fear not, the Genesis version still has them. Frankly, I think the TG16 version is a lot more challenging because it doesn't have them...

Isn't there a way to continue in the TG16 version by entering some button config after you die?

I tried using the code before one time when me and my bro died, but I screwed it up (I think I didn't enter it in time). I'll have to try it for fun later.

Is it necessary to have the Turbo version of Cadash versus the PCE?  I would like to pick this one up but would prefer to pay 25 instead of 40 or so.  LMK.
What a horrible night to have a curse...

A lesser-known name is this:

AGAG

Use that in place of TORU and you'll begin the game in world 4 rather than world 2. However, it will be most challenging, even at level 20, since you will only start with 40HP and not only will the inn in world 3 be inaccessible (you don't yet have the flower, so even though you look small, you won't be able to enter the inn!) but you'll have a hard time even going back in world 2 to the inn, since you don't have the scales and the water will damage you. Your only hope for survival is to blaze through world 4 and attempt to get to the hidden town deep within...where the inn is 500 gold. Of course, you could also try to get the flower at the end of world 3 (I've done this before) but it is extremely hard with only 40HP (you have to kill the monster worm...hint: find the crawling kelp in the second part of world 3, and pray it doesn't kill you...if you survive this long, you'll get the first elixir, which WILL save your arse and you'll be fine for the rest of the game).

So that's definately a good challenge for anyone who thinks they've done it all in Cadash. :D

I don't like Cadash. I think the level design is ridiculous (bad, in other words) and I can't stand the huge sprites!  :P

Man I must have beat Cadash about 50 times, I used to play through it every time I'd go to the arcade when I was a kid.  That and Alien 3 The Gun, those were my two games, I got so good at Alien 3 I could nearly 1 credit the game (some damn boss though was really cheap and would always end up kicking my ass).
