It's been about a year since I stopped buying neo games [i'm not saying im DONE, lol] but now that I've moved on to Turbo stuff for a while, starting fresh, I'm trying to buy all my games complete with box, which I'm finding pretty much doubles the asking price for any game...anyone else all about the complete games? I just cant help myself, but even as a collector who has spent hundreds on single AES carts, this is different because it seems like the box's are much harder to get, especially in nice condition...so you end up paying out your ass for just the cardboard. aahhhh; I do it to myself I guess.

When i collect games i am all about completeness!? However w/ turbo grafx i tend to break that rule. Boxes are such a rarity on some games ebayers, which is really one of our main sources, only post their auctions with buy it now, as u were saying 1x or 2x higher than the game itself costs. Some games are up their w/ box only once every two months and their are so many good turbogames which are already fairly expensive i simply cannot wait to pay double for a box. I saw Neutopia II up there complete and it was the only one for a while for a buy it now of 109.99$. Cheaper complete ones have since surfaced. Dungeon Explorer II which doesn't have a cardboard box (to my knowledge) for a while the only complete one i saw was buy it now for around $250, since then two have surfaced and sold for significantly less.

So now that my rant is over i'm all about completenes for NES, SNES, GEN, etc, but w/ turbo grafx to find the game that you want complete in good condition takes a significant amount of money and it seems an even greater amount of time.

yeah; that ebay seller has a really nice Neutopia II right now for $109. while this seller seems to have somewhat high prices, he lists every game in great detail, down to every scratch / pages edges, etc. I've been buying quite a bit from him since, he has some great items; dont know how long i can keep it up though.

Yeah his stuff definitely is in good condition, I was just using that as an example. If he listed it as a regular auction it woudln't go nearly as high, but as your topic says your are cursed if you want complete stuff in good condition you definitely need to pay top dollar

I skip the cardboard boxes myself, and I'm a collector. The jewel cases are definitely nice enough for me and I'll only make exceptions to get cardboard boxes for games I really care for (like Ys

). Also for Japanese collecting, I generally skip spine and registration cards.

registration cards are one thing, but i need the spine card. I still dont have a spine for my dracula x, and it haunts me every night before i go to sleep.

Dracula X that is the one thing I made sure I got complete. I have the Spine card and reg card I bought it for $130 plus shipping.

Best deal I ever got.

my dracula x was included in a larger lot of games that I bought with a brand new boxed duo, so i wasnt going to complain, ill pick up the spine card if I ever see it up for auction.

I'm pretty much in line with Keranu here. When it comes to anything that has comes in a jewel case or dvd case, I need it complete, although I do have a small cd folder for some cd games. With any game platform that uses cardboard boxes, I'm a cart only man. However, I do have a copy of Simon's Quest and Kirby's Adventure mint in box. These are exceptions though and mainly to remember how awesome it was to get a fresh NES game as a child. OH SO SWEET!

Heres a question for ya though, What about games like Air Zonk and New Adventure Island? They come in a cardboard box w/out jewel cases!! WTF?
