Keith Courage game box...
« on: March 21, 2014, 12:21:28 AM »
Hey guys, had a little time this week and here is where I am with the box for Keithy. I kept it simple like Bonks adventure so it blends in with the library, I think I may include a set of 4 stickers with it ( imagine that :P)

Hope you guys are ok with it, if not I can change it up as I could customize it more but I don't think it's needed.
Hugs.

Oh, you think I should use the full title "Keith courage in alpha zones" on the spine and back?
See any goofs let me know.

Pricing:

I am looking into getting 50 to 100 professionally printed
Your looking about $6 to $10 a box and about $2 to ship.

They will be scored and die cut out on a 12 pt card, no folding and i will be adding my own glue/2sided tape.
Assembly will be done by the buyer (which is super easy to do and cheaper to ship flat)

let me know your thoughts on the prices as its cheaper in the end to do 100 but that is a hell of a lot of boxes i think, 50 seems good and i will be able to move.

If this goes well how about a professional reprint of the MC Box

Looks nice, Sparks!  I'd expect it to have the dotted black border and Turbob seal of approval on the front, though, like most all early titles.

Ya, good call Necro on da seal.
Some boxes had the border but others did not like Bonks, i am easy i will see how it looks.

Thanks for the kind works but this stuff is pretty easy to put together, just following a template my friends :)

I'm not trying to twist your arm (this version looks quite nice), but all launch titles had the black border and only one title (Sidearms) was borderless in the first year.

Either way - box sex!

I am at work (so I can't check), but didn't the early releases have a thinner, taller font on the spine as well?

Nice work!

1 vote for "Keith Courage in the Alpha Zones" on the back.  The name is just too hokey not to showcase it whenever you can...

Very nice, awesome work!

I think Bonk's Adventure was release in 1990, which is a little after the first year release. I believe games like Legendary Axe, China Warrior, Dungeon Explorer, Military Madness were released in 1989.

Also, you might be able to fit the full title "Keith Courage in Alpha Zones" easier if the green is taken out from the sides and back like the earlier released games.

Bonk was released a long time after launch, as we experienced it bitd, and the transition to the new style of boxes was very noticeable.

That new style is the Turbo equivalent to the Genesis' red box makeover.

Gorgeous!

Two cents: I like the thought of an authentic box design (a la Legendary Axe), but the design posted above is still gorgeous.

Looks nice, if you are going to stick with this box style a couple of things I noticed (but nothing big)
-Keith Courage is listed as being in the purple action genre in the Turbo Gear flier,
-The spine text seems a little large imo, I know it varies for different titles but many of the early full size picture box covers the spine text was a bit smaller, Im thinking maybe the bonk spine font size would be better but hard for me to tell from just pics.

To expand on what the others are saying about the old box I think because it was an orange label early title it would get the old style box with the turbo font and the framed front pic.

I know its a weird cover for color but maybe make it look more saturated, to me it looks slightly faded.
(lol I've been working with this cover lately for my 8dp getting the title to print a good orange is hard let alone neon orange must need a special printer for that color.. your orange looks pretty good though)
