WTB: Experienced refurbishing for a CD-ROM2 drive.
« on: March 28, 2014, 02:56:09 AM »
Hey Everyone,

I have a CD-ROM2 drive that I would like to have refurbished and fixed. When running games, the drive has extreme problems reading, frequently does not load games, audio drop outs, and game resets (Due to failure to read disks).

So I'm looking for an experienced and responsible refurbishing/fixing for the drive. That is, to have the lens replaced, gear replaced (It works, but probably is all buttery colored and ready to break), recap, and pot calibrated correctly. Essentially I want to give it the full treatment to ensure it won't need to be looked at for a long time.

Hopefully there are some experts here who have great experience in doing this, that can help. New CD-ROM lens will be provided with drive to help offset cost of work involved (since I know a few places charge extra for lens replacements). Please feel free to PM me!

Cheers!

Hey,

Thanks for the suggestion. Funny you should mention, Keith had already reached out to me and he agreed to help. In fact, my CD-ROM drive has already been sent to him. He should be receiving it shortly.

The Steve was the one who got the Super Grafx going. I added the region switch :)

Oh, and starting work on your CD drive tonight.
