I feel your pain.  I have to go there occasionally for work.  Go to a store called "GrayWhale" if you feel like checking out some over-priced retrogames.

I heard that you have to register on some kind of blacklist to drink alcohol in SLC... any truth to that?

not anymore. they did away with that a couple years ago.  you had to buy a membership for each bar in order to drink.
essentially it was a cover charge.  the whole place is all f*cked up and backwards.

Its a very clean city, thats for sure...maybe because everybody is on lockdown by 7pm
Architecture is beautiful, mountains are beautiful, the high capacity of homeless...not so beautiful. You cant walk 10 feet without being asked for a dollar. I go about 3 times a year, and dread it every time.
