It sure is nice of you to raffle off a $90 game like this.

Especially since you are still new to the forum.

$90 is the FKR price. My copy was purchased a few years ago, game and case for $5. Later got the manual for $20. This one I'm raffling cost me a fraction of the FKR price. I figure this makes up for me getting my copy for cheap and I wanted to show that I appreciate this forum and its inhabitants.

It's nicer still though, that you actively join discussions. :)

Sarcasm?

I don't think Black_Tiger was being sarcastic. You have been more involved than the last 20 people who have introduced themselves (never to be heard from again). I'm not knocking the lurkers, it's just difficult to have a conversation with a lurker.  TrĂ¼ storie.

Definitely not sarcasm. :P

I didn't want to get into how there are more new members joining and immediately trying to either make a quick buck or snag all of the "rares", than there are active forum contributors overall now.

When I decided to buy the rest of the TurboChips I didn't have a year ago, I knew that SSS had been regularly selling CIC for <$30 on eBay and elsewhere. Like a few other titles I stalled on picking up at the right price, I ran into a dry spell and didn't pay the $100 - $200 asking prices that had been up all along. It didn't take long for me to find a CIC copy for <$30.

I've seen way too many Turbo games being flipped in the forum recently for outrageous prices, cheered on by a chorus of new members praising such an unbelievably great deal. SSS is one of those games that isn't hard to find or really valuable, but resellers who fancy themselves "collectors" see games like this as a priceless gem and try holding out for several times its value.

The occasion that one of these power sellers decides to actually raffle off an item in the forum to promote their sales threads, it's usually something relatively worthless, like a flyer or game that would have to be sold as part of a lot, like Keith Courage.

But that in itself says more about the influx of people who only come here for commerce, instead of actual Turbo/PCE(/PC-FX) discussion/contributions. I didn't want to trivialize your genuine contribution to the boards by simply contrasting you against others and I appreciate your personality and attitude. I think it's cool that people do things like raffles, but it doesn't influence my perception of them very much. I appreciate members actively engaging in discussions and sharing various projects with the community. In recent weeks, there have been many more new members doing so and I really hope it's the turning of the tide.

In time I hope y'all will see me as a newb vs noob.

On most of the other sites I frequent, I've noticed the same thing of people joining for the marketplace mainly. I joined here to make sure Necromancer takes care of the LA I sold him  I knew it was in good hands once he made it OBEY compliant

I know there are people who feel more comfortable lurking (which is fine) but from what I've read, most people will give you the same respect you show them. If I know the answer to a question (or think I do lol) I post. Blah, blah, blah, bottom line...I'd rather be the guy you'd like to have a beer with and do some BSing.

Meekay meekay, Mister Tiger of Onyx persuasion. I was just not entirely sure, my mind defaults to negative, 'cause reasons. lol It was just that I read your original post, maybe with a bad attitude. Jeez, I really need to work on my outlook. I started reflecting, do my short burst comments make me seem like a butt? Are my pictures not good enough? I know alot of you put way more effort into your replies than I do. Sometimes I try, I promise! Its just that I kinda hate typing for too long... and I'm a little slow.

I want to thank you for your kind words, I bet you smell really good. :3

One of the Parodius bosses has a pair of giant lips. Usually a pretty tough boss despite looking silly. Usually appears at the end of a food- or candy-themed level.

Parodius Da! is a HuCard game. If you don't have a flashcard, it is very cheap as a loose game and often while complete.

It has some nice aesthetics and does "impossible-on-PCE" parallax and scaling sprites. It also has noticeably less slowdown than the arcade and SFC versions.

I did not know that, was thinking of Star Parodier (spelling?) then i guess. Oops.

Thanks, Mister. If its cheap I'll have to check it out on the youtubes and if I fully approve it will get put on my list for future stuffs. Yay!
