And... So Endeth the Music
« on: April 20, 2014, 02:47:21 AM »
My Turbo Duo has stopped putting forth the music from CD based games.  Which especially sucks when I play Ane-san because where else can I hear such a weirdly infectious soundtrack while beating up baddies with a female character who is an alcoholic, has a lazy eye, and spits fire? Where, I ask you?!

At any rate, I noticed the sound slipping a few weeks ago but somehow the problem magically solved itself for awhile. But now, it appears the all the music has ended. Reading up on the issue, I see that replacing certain caps under the hood are the solution. Now, I've tried self-repairs in the past and results were less than stellar, and by that I mean, "OMG, what in the actual phuck have I done?" Luckily, it was just an aging original PS2.

Can anyone recommend a reputable repair service, or individual who is adept at resolving the problem? I easily replaced the PS2 I attempted to operate on, but my Turbo Duo will NOT share that fate!
My past-life would've surely led to our demise, and I had left it not a moment too soon. Our escape, though dangerous, had gone well. The train ride, sunlight, and passing snow-covered pine trees came together in a flickering show of our bright, new future together. Her head rested on my shoulder as she soundly slept to the gentle rocking of the passenger car. We felt freedom. We felt peace.
