I'm sure many of you are GCX fans too - and I noticed the current "present" is Tatsunoko Fighter, so it got me wondering how to enter the drawing for them.  I don't see why they wouldn't allow an American to win, but my main source of GCX is through the fansubbed episodes.  The problem is by the time the sub comes out, that giveaway is long gone.  Looks like we are about 10 or so episodes behind the real thing.

I have a (very) rudimentary understanding of Japanese and I wouldn't mind catching the real broadcast to get the keyword, plus it got me thinking it would be cool to have access to other Japanese shows.  I know GCX is on Fuji TV, does anyone know a way to watch it live?  I would love to win just even the business card, I would have it framed and hang it up on the wall next to my other gaming stuff.  And even though Tatsunoko Fighter isn't the best PCE game to win, it would still be a nice collector piece, wouldn't it?

For ages I've been meaning to watch Game Centre CX.
Could you recommend me a way to watch english subbed episodes? preferably starting from the first episodes.
I tried searching youtube without much luck, are there any channels you would recommend?
Cheers

Sure, I watch on Daily Motion:

You can see most of them here.  The show started with a slightly different format than it has today, but it's all great.

If I actually won something like that (a PCE game specially) from Game Center CX I would get a week long boner. Good luck with it and please report your findings :)

Kotaku did a dub/sub on a handful of episodes a couple of years ago but they cut out all of the in-between scenes of Arino visiting game shops and whatnot (which is arguably the best part of the show). Definitely watch the dailymotion versions. Great show.

For me there is no argument, I love the segments.  He always seems to gravitate towards the same games in arcades though, I can't count the number of times he's picked out Metal Slug.  They are great games (at least the original games are) but I wish he'd play some different ones.  It's understandable when it's one of two games at a candy shop, though.  In the most recent one he gets the elderly woman who owns the shop to play with him, that was pretty amusing.

My favorite segment is probably "A Waste of Color" where he plays original Game Boy games and talks about them.  I love the O.G. Game Boy.  I also just love the Famicom/GB game blurbs released in a certain year (they'll show like 3 famicom games released in 1987 and show a clip).  More recently I am enjoying the Sega SG-1000 reviews.  They started out with Congo Bongo which was always a game I couldn't stand.

It's a very Famicom biased show, but they have done a handful of PC-Engine challenges and I'm hoping for a lot more since it was so big over there.  It's definitely untapped potential for the show.

Biased is an understatement. Didn't they brought that Nintendo guy once to review Balloon Fight?

That said I didn't like much the SG-1000 reviews. Obviously it was a very underpowered console compared to the famicom but they review its games as if they were famicom carts. (still that congo bongo port was horrible either way)

Look at that and compare it to Hudson's Adventure Island (Fami) for example.

I'm a big Sega fan, and the SG-1000 is an interesting little system to me.  I never got to play it (The Sega Master System was exotic enough at the time, and of course the SG-1000 didn't have a US release) so it's fascinating.  It's one of those consoles where only a small handful of games are worth playing (like the Atari 5200/7800, which only had like 2-3 good exclusives among them, the rest were ports that are pretty much obsolete today).
