If you goto http://www.pcecp.com check the catalog and select ACD from the "Format" box. You'll get whole list there, but not sure if it's complete though.

From the top of my head I remember only the fighting games. Kabuki Itouryodan and Fatal Fury Special are very good.

Art of Fighting
Fatal Fury 2
Fatal Fury Special
World Heroes 2
Kabuki Itouryodan

ACD Only
Strider
Mad Stalker
Umm... There's one or two Wrestling games.  I think I have one (goes to show how often I played it. :P)

SCD/ACD Compatible games.
Vasteel 2 (uses the ACD to load everything in memory)
3x3 Eyes (I *think* uses the ACD to reduce loads as well? It might have been one of the games that people say the ACD does something but it isn't indicated on the packaging?)

Wow, what a great response. Thanks everyone for the info. It seems like most of the SCD/ACD games just use the Arcade Card for quicker loading. Are there any SCD games that have special features (besides loading time) when used with the Arcade Card?

I had a turbografx when i was young, with just a few games. I ended up trading it in though :(.  I just picked up a nice Duo-r a week ago, and have picked up a handful of hucards and cds.

I think Macross 2036 has enhanced graphics when used with Arcade Card if I remember correctly.

Hehe, the playing 3x3 Eyes with the Arcade Card certainly didn't reduce the loading times for the game, it only made the loading longer :D . The additions with the Arcade Card for 3x3 Eyes is cool though because it adds extra animation for the cinemas and they look amazing. Akamichi has posted a thread about the difference between playing 3x3 Eyes with Super System Card and Arcade Card and you can check out the videos he made for it from his site, here http://pcengine.kicks-ass.net/ .

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

wow that 3x3 eyes comparison really shows off what that extra memory can do.

Others off the top of my head....
ACD Only
Janshin Densetsu
Madou Monogatari

ACD Capable
Emerald Dragon
Seiya Monogatari (Anearth Fantasy Stories)
Asuka 120% (requires a code)
Flash Hiders

I'm not sure if there were any SCD/ACD games that offered anything "special" when used with ACD.  3x3 Eyes probably stands out the most with the extra scenes and animation.   Emerald Dragon and Asuka basically use the Arcade Card as extra storage space.

Flash Hiders is probably uses the ACD the least.  At the end of a match, the winner says something.  Using the SCD, the game has to load this bit of speech at the end of the round.  Using ACD there is no loading.

Overall, there's about 30 or so titles that utilize the ACD.

I think it's actually a CD/SCD hybrid, but I'm not sure what the enhancements are supposed to be. Definitely far too old to have taken advantage of the Arcade Card.

Anyone know what the Arcade card cost when it was new?
A little memory sure goes a long way, but it was DAMN expensive back then! I remember buying 4MB of memory for my 486 in the early 90s, and spending over $100!

I don't remember the price in yen (or what the conversion to dollars would have been back then) but TZD used to sell the Arcade Card Duo for $159 around 94-95.

I don't remember exactly (have to check sources :)), but I think the AC Pro was Y17800 and the AC Duo was Y12800.

The yen rate was roughly Y105 = $1 (03/94) so that would put them at ~$170 for the Pro and ~$122 for the Duo.  I bought the AC Pro and Fatal Fury 2 on release (in Japan) and I remember shelling out over $200 just for that.   I had been saving for months just for that reason.

Random Trivia:
Most people may not remember, but the AC release was delayed 3 months (minimum).   It was planned to be released in Dec 93, but after the large fire at a RAM production facility in Taiwan, RAM production sank drastically while RAM prices skyrocketed.  Hudson released a statement saying that the chips that were to be used in the Arcade cards were in shortage and they couldn't get enough.  Therefore, they delayed the release to March 94.

I believe Flash Hiders' release in Dec 93 was supposed to coincide with the AC's original projected release date since it utilized the AC's extra memory (and the first game to do so).

Very interesting, I had never heard of that story. That's a pity for had this fire not occured, we might have got more Arcade Card compatible games...
