Operation Supply Drop (or streaming for charity)
« on: May 17, 2014, 03:13:03 PM »
Hey guys, I don't know if anyone here is interested, but there's currently a gaming-based charity drive going on for Operation Supply Drop.

Some of the details on the charity can be found here, but the short version is that for some time now they work on different fund raising events to raise $$ to put together gaming care packages meant for deployed troops and guys recovering in the hospital from combat wounds.

The current event is a 24 hour streaming marathon, so if anyone wants to check out our stream, come on over to my twitch channel. Hope to see you guys there, and feel free to donate if you feel the cause is worthy!

I'm on my phone and all so I can't really check out your twitch thing,  but I did want to say that your avatar is... magnificent. Words escape me. I thought mine was pretty good but... goddamn.

I'll probably donate to your cause based on reading Rambo alone.

Haha thanks man! Glad to have been able to give you a good laugh today!

It is 8:08 am at this time, and we're calling it for the 'night' haha. My two other players have already crashed and my turn is coming soon after I clean up from this crazyness. Thanks to any and all who stopped by the stream to hang out and chat a bit, and especially thanks to those of you who donated. The recipients of your kindness will be exceptionally appreciative!

Hopefully we can do this again sometime (and next time with a bit more planning prior to for us on this end haha). Till next time, keep on gaming!

Just noticed from your sig that you're playing Skies of Arcadia.... hands down one of my most favorite games.  Definitely in my top 3. :D
[Sun 23:29] <Tatsujin> we have hard off, book off, house off, sports off, baby off, clothes off, jerk off, piss off etc

I'd easily agree with you on that one. This is my first time attempting to seriously play through it (to the end, I mean), and I have just been amazed at every turn with just how good the title really is.

It seems to just get better and better the more you play. If youre still putting around on the little jack then youve got a long ways to go!  Do play it all the way to the end!  Random encounters are annoying but not horribly so.

If you havent played them, be sure to play Lunar 1 and 2 (imo do 1 on sega cd and 2 on playstation)  I liked them almost as much as SoA.

Also, I know you and Schweaty are stationed over seas there... Maybe we could get a group together and put together some sort of care package for some of the other guys over there if you think there are some guys/gals who could use a boost.

I actually just 'lost' the Jack when our older friend decided to take off with it after landing at the desert city...I was seriously going "wait...what? nooooo come back!" out loud when that happened :P

As for the Lunars...I have the first for Sega CD and have been slowly making my through it off and on when the mood strikes. One of these days I'll buckle down and attack it a bit more seriously, though, as I can tell it's another great ride just from what I've seen so far.

That would be pretty amazing. I can think of a couple guys in the unit over here who got the retro 'bug' from hanging out with me (Marco & David in my OSD vids come to mind) who would/could greatly benefit from (and appreciate the hell out of) that!
