Turbo swap meets
« on: May 18, 2014, 05:29:54 AM »
Does anyone know if there are meets for just turbo related items? Not like a convention for all platforms though. If not it would be kind of cool to have groups of people get together to trade, sell and game within maybe a 4 or 5 state area.... The forum is kind of part of that but to meet in person sounds like it could be more fun.... Feedback anyone?

Lots of us meet up a few times a year in the Chicago area.  Its a bit of a drive for me but well worth it!
[Sun 23:29] <Tatsujin> we have hard off, book off, house off, sports off, baby off, clothes off, jerk off, piss off etc

Would turbofest in Lombard be one of those times? This July is when I think it is.

I'm actually in the Chicago area but new to the Turbo scene. Do you guys play or just trade together? Either way that's pretty cool

Yep Turbofest at the VGS is one of them.  We mostly play though some trading / dealing happens.

We need to set up an east cost meet and greet/play session so I can slap some douche bags. No seriously tho it would be cool as heel to meet some of the people and pick their brain about tech and other stuff. Would be a blast. Chicago is like a 20 hour ride from me lol.

Meet and greet/play sessions sound much better than a Turbo market.

So why don't we get a list of people on the east coast somewhere in the middle of all those who want to do this and go from there?

Where in VA are you from? I grew up in Virginia Beach.

And yeah - any folks on here that are remotely close to the Midwest should come to VGS (the Video Game Summit) in Lombard, IL; outside Chicago. It's a small show but it's typically the big summer meetup for the group here. The show is dirt cheap to attend ($5 if I recall) so you're really only on the hook for travel. A bunch of us stay overnight for the weekend, so rooms can be shared to save bucks.

The vending at the event is surprisingly decent and we basically just take over a quarter of one of the rooms for Turbob stuff + some other consoles.

SignofZeta: What a quintessentially PCEFX thread. Someone complains about nothing, multiple Bible-length posts discussing who's a bigger a$$hole follow. You're both pretty big a$$holes. Let's call it a tie.
