What's a reasonable price to pay for Air Zonk?
« on: May 20, 2014, 10:30:48 AM »
This listing just popped up on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Air-Zonk-TurboGrafx-16-Turbo-Duo-RARE-HuCard-and-Manual-/111359336080?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item19ed889e90

Hu + manual $85 +6s/h
I was thinking of making an offer of $70.00, but really have no idea what a reasonable price for the game + manual would be. Any insight would be appreciated!

I would think that $35-50 for HuCard and manual should be abut right, but after checking the sold listings, I don't know.  Prices are getting high!  :(  It's a great game though, so if you really want it with a manual and a jewel case, then it would be worth $70-90 to me personally.  I'd rather have it than one of the recently-released games for current consoles.  If you don't feel that you need the manual and jewel case, then you should be able to find a copy for $50 or less, if you keep looking.

He's also put up a copy of Parasol Stars.  It's also a great game.  If you don't already have it, then maybe you could talk him into giving you a deal for both of them

Keep in mind that Air Zonk is a game that didn't come with a jewel case, it was a plastic tray. I'd not add too much financial value for a recycled keith courage tray + sparky label that you could probably make yourself for less than $10

Exactly.  $5-10 for the jewel case w/ spine sticker is about right.

Offer of $70 was submitted yesterday but no response yet. He's probably gauging interest and seeing if any other offers/buy it now comes in.

UPDATE: Seller accepted my offer!! Have always wanted Zonk, but never pulled the trigger. So excited to finally be able to play it. =P~

I know I was being a douche. Really tho you would think that even though they were cutting corners near the end of life they would still have a case. Hell, even pack in KC had a case, If any should have been case less that would be the one. I mean hell NES,SNES and all the others that had pack ins had no case/box.

The KC's were manufactured and packed at LAUNCH in 1989. Later, TTi was simply selling old stock (TG-16 console)s that had been sitting for years). That's why KC has a case.

It would not be worth the time and effort to CAREFULLY open up hundreds/thousands of TG-16 boxes, retrieve KC, put KC+manual+comic LOOSE back into box (is loose the best method? Tape? Envelope? That would additional time/labor/money), CAREFULLY close up TG-16 box (nobody likes to buy less-than-pristine items).

THEN, remove label from KC jewel case, thus creating a GENERIC case to send to somewhere, where a label (now  TTi has additional cost of printing labels and applying them)...

You get the idea. It would require so much manual labor that logistically, economically it doesn't make any sense.
